What this gentleman has is the real deal, all military all the way - but it is not a M49A2C. It is a Type L-6 750 gallon oil servicing truck built primarily for servicing aircraft for the US Air Force.
Relatively speaking - a M108 or M60 would be a common vehicle compared to this one - hence it...

I sent those pix to Chris about midnight or so last night, after a REALLY long week. Didn't think to send a pic of Lamar and Jewell's truck. I just sent it to Chris, I'm sure he'll post it soon.
The SS trophy and presentation were both First Class!

I'll be there - and if any of you guys are planning on attending the deuce seminar I am scheduled to present Saturday at 1 PM, an advance head count would help me out.
Thanks,

Deere and Company keeps extensive records - including photos. They've been big helps to me on three of my projects (two MV books and a Deere book).

Best wishes,

Well, I've been at Aberdeen - in the room now, sorry I missed Cabell arriving. Got some pics of the southbound serial pulling in earlier today.
Hope to see everyone in the AM. I have set up in space Yellow U6. Everybody come by and pick up a free magazine from me.
Regards,
David Doyle
Although I have compiled the data on literally thousands of deuces, I do not have enough data amassed yet to feel comfortable publishing a "master list"
The most common vehicles in the collector market came from the South Bend plant.
Those that begin with M are broken out earlier. Those...
