I had let mine run in the rain overnight & didn't have that issue. Also had a return fuel line blow & it ran all night coated in diesel another time. Sounds like there is an actual short that is showing itself when it gets wet. Maybe a common area that shorts?
I bet it comes with them when the truck is built. The first time some new PFC removes it, they don't pay attention & they probably get lost without even realizing it.
So, I got my hands on a LPW2 motor that was being scrapped to take some parts off of. I took a little bit of time & made a video explaining the injetion pump installation & removal.
I previously was a bit confused on this & saw that many others on the forum were as well. Since I'm more of a...
Got a bunch more stuff done to the truck!
Got some air springs for a very good deal local. Got them installed. What a difference!
Changed the oil/filters in the transmission. Definitely shifts much better.
Rebuild the hydraulic unit. Had one minor snag with it but it's good now. Much better...
I'm sure you'll have better luck than me since I purchased from an eBay seller.
Thanks for letting me know what it is. I guess I have a slight leak then. It seems to come & go to be honest. I'll keep an eye on it & see if it gets worse but at least I know now what it is!
I'm at 402 hours & really have not had issues. :)
A small crack at the muffler flange has popped up but that is an easy fix.
Still a real slight oil leak that I can't quite pinpoint. I changed the oil last month & it wasn't really down at all so for a 26 year old generator, I'm not going to...
Haven't posted in a while.
Been driving it a bunch. Changed engine oil & filter, fuel filters, & flushed coolant system. Put the newer Cat ELC in.
Noticed a little wetness under the transmission. Planning to change the oil & filters in that next. Can't quite tell why it's wet but it's...
Good write up. Found it when reading about fluid changes as I plan to do all mine here soon my my new-to-me LMTV.
I'm going to stick with the 15w-40. I have a LOT of it because I use it in just about everything I have with an engine.
I'm also in south Texas so cold temperatures aren't a big...

With the air bags in the deflated position, no longer having problems with the fan clutch.
Replaced the coolant overflow bottle. The one I got was slightly different... probably a design change. But, it works.
Took care of some other small things.
Here are the links to the relays I got.

So, today I decided to look at the cab air ride springs. It seemed like the cab was clanking when I was hitting bumps. But, I was getting no air leak noise.
Lifted the cab by hand since the hydro pack spits to much fluid. Messed with the valve at the bottom right of the control box & watched...
