    Yanmar L100V Help Request

That issue you described is extremely common in gasoline small engines. It's the ethanol added to modern gasoline at the pump. A diesel engine doesn't ignite with a head source. It it pure combustion via compression. Everything is mechanical unlike with gasoline. A lot of the L- Series engines...

    Yanmar L100V Help Request

I have not checked fuel pressure. I'm not even sure what the pressure is supposed to be on these engines but I know it's high. Spark definitely isn't an issue because it's a diesel. I could do a compression test but am not sure how to do that on these. Generally, I just use the pull start & if...

    Yanmar L100V Help Request

I completly rinsed & cleaned the fuel tank. All new fittings, lines, & fuel filter. Cleaned the injection pump. Tried a new injection pump. Tested injector. Purged all the air. Fuel is fresh & clean. The only other thing I can think to try is a new injector but I don't want to toss more money at it.

    Yanmar L100V Help Request

I've thrown to many parts & way to much time at it. Scrap yard it is!

US Thermal MFX 2705 Field Water Heater

Howdy, I stumbled upon a few of these for sale. Thinking that it may be a good option to get hot water out at my off grid place. I use my MEP-802A as a power source so I would have 28 volt power source along with plenty of diesel. Just wanted to see if anyone here has hands on use...

    MEP 802A Fix-up Thread

I think some units have it, others don't. I'm not sure if it was on there at new. It was just something that I got for nothing & figured, why not?

    M116A3 Fix-up & Conversion Thread

Decided to re-pack the bearings & investigate that grinding noise. Right side brake shoes came apart! Going to get parts & finish up when I have them. Left side was all good to go. Completely repacked & brakes adjusted nicely. Seals were good. I'm documenting everything on video to add to my...

    MEP 802A Fix-up Thread

So, I found some of the padding that is used as a sound damper in the dumpster while at work. It was in all kinds of strange cuts, but I took what I could from it & placed it around the generator. Not sure if it will make a difference at all, but it won't hurt anything. Made a small holder for...

    Yanmar L100V Help Request

Howdy, There are a few pieces of military equipment that run on the Yanmar L100V engine. I'm working on one of these engines & am having a hell of a time figuring out my problem. I have an engine with a fuel cut of solenoid on the injection pump. I've confirmed fuel is getting from the tank &...

    M116A3 Fix-up & Conversion Thread

My past weekend trip with the trailer, I noticed a grinding noise when coasting & more so when slowing down. Thinking it may be worn brakes or sand got in there. Will need to dig in once I get some time. Also, I need to repack the wheel bearings. Also made some brackets for the fuel tank. I...

    MEP 831A Fix-up Thread

Well, after having it listed for a while, this unit sold. Off to a good home on a private island. Wish I could say the same for myself. Onto the next project...

    MEP 501A Fix-up Thread

Generator has been sold! Had someone who came to look at another unit I had for sale & he said it was to supplement his 24 volt solar system. Told him I had this & he took both of them. I did figure out how to keep the chinging noise from the aftermarket pull start. Pull it about an inch back...

    MEP 802A Fix-up Thread

Made the angle iron brackets with some stainless that was scrap at work. Came out good & evens the load on the tank tabs a bit more.

Thanks, I guess I am well within that range & the bad radiator had me running a but more hot than that.

I'm going to give mine a look & see if I need to do that. Thanks!

    MEP 802A Fix-up Thread

You're right & I just didn't think of it. A lot of weight for those tabs! I plan to run angle iron across the short ways to help. Should do the trick. Regular rubber pads still don't help enough with vibration... I did try that already.

    MEP 802A Fix-up Thread

It's not bad, just seems to run cooler than I remember. Before I had the radiator fixed, it would always be between the two unmarked notches. Guess it just works better now! It could be due to the thermostat opening a bit sooner as well. Just a little surprising since it's really hot down here...

    MEP 802A Fix-up Thread

Haven't updated in a while because I've just been using it! Up to 342 hours. Taking it out again this weekend & did some pre-trip checks. Found a bit of an oil leak that I'm not sure where it's coming from. I suspect the crank case gasket? It ends up all pooling at the motor mounts. Not...

    M116A3 Fix-up & Conversion Thread

Thanks for letting me know. I did end up just cutting it with it all together & welded a foot on. If I decide to make it a bit cleaner in the future, I will punch the roll pin out as you pointed out. :)
