So, I have had a minor issue pop up & no idea what it could be.
When starting it up with the electric start, the engine will keep surging every 10 seconds or so. I thought it was due to air in the lines but I'm confident that's not the issue anymore. I checked to be sure all the adjustments are...
Got my o-ring making kit in earlier this week.
Made the needed o-rings & put the pump back together.
Added camlock fittings for the suction & discharge.
Cut off the handles since the bent one just started cracking when I tried to bend it back.
Drilled a hole so when the pump drain is...
If I had know better at the time, I would have done something like that. I already have the window units mounted in holes I framed out for them in the cabin. All trimmed out & sealed. Down the road, I might change over & put windows in the holes but these are in there & work for now.
Window units. One is a 8,000 BTU & one is a 10,000 BTU. 10 AWG wiring. Maybe 50ft total including the extension cord hooking the generator to my cabin. They're less than 3 years old. I tried both on 115 volt mode & 240 volt mode. Even connecting both legs in 115 volt mode didn't do it...
Got the muffler fixed.
The two bolts that were missing in the back are hard to get at unless you remove the started. Removed it & found some bolts to use.
Found that the lower started bolt was missing! Found it underneath it. Put that back in & everything is tight & snug.
Re-did all the...
I re-routed my wires to the outlets to come out of the bottom of the generator so that the tarp would fit better. Changed the wires to 8 AWG. Eliminated some extra plugs that I didn't use. Had to make a 2inx2in cut in the trailer deck to make it happen. Secured the conduit with heavy duty zip...
I didn't think to do it until this evening, but I searched for the Technical Manuals. Found them.
TM-10-4320-309-14 is the manual for the operator.
TM-10-4320-309-24P is for the parts break down.
Figured I would share in case anyone finds this thread down the road. The files are attached to...
Cut off the handles since the one side was bent. It started to crack when I attempted to bend back.
Added a ball valve to the pump housing drain hole.
Did my best to bend back the enclosure & put the side back on that covers the engine.
Added my favorite Diesel Fuel Only sticker.
Have an...
While looking for parts for the pump, I found that these were also used as a bulk fuel transfer pump. Interesting. No luck on finding o-ring gaskets though. I may just need to used RTV & seal it up that way. overlooked that is had POL in the name of it. Petroleums, Oils, & Lubricants.
Was able to free up the pump without removing the cover completely after letting it sit overnight.
Soaked everything again & let it sit.
Removed the pull cord reel & unbolted the high pressure fuel line going to the injector. Used a drill & spun the engine with it while holding the...
Removed all of the enclosure. Cleaned up all the old foam, leaves, spiders, nests, etc.
Inspected the fuel tank & crank case. Both are extremely clean considering how long this thing sat & how old it is.
Took a lot of work, but got the top fitting off the pump to look inside. As expected...
Howdy all,
Starting another one of my fix-up threads! I shearched a bit & found no threads on one of these.
Got this surplus pump that was sitting in a military surplus scrapyard for who knows how long.
It doesn't have any plates with any numbers on it. Just a few things spray...
I like what you did with the fuel lines. Great idea.
When I did this, I had a problem with the generator not matching up quite like it should have on the crank shaft & had the machine a little bit off the mounting plate. What generator head did you use?
Yes, if I were to refurbish one of these ever again I would not even bother with the old style controller.
Thanks for the compliment on following thru. Over the years & watching the internet grow, I have always hated dead ends on things like forums or projects. I also disliked how the...
I could swear I have seen them setup both ways but never paid that much attention. I did it so that I could access the controls easier & because I wanted the tank closer to the truck.
I ordered the tarp custom with the dimensions from the TM.
EDIT: This is an old post, but I am going to be...
Great thread!
Anyone by chance have a parts breakdown for the Yanmar L100V engine? I can only find the L100AE & L100N ones after a few days on the Google.
So, took it out to my off grid place to run it overnight & be sure all the kinks were worked out. Got 4 hours out of it. Woke up just after falling asleep to it making an off noise. Muffler broke right at the header! Seems like a strange thing to break. Turns out the two bolts on the back side...
