Answer to the age old question-m35a2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8pth9G0UT4 Watch as this guy rolls back off the embankment, that fuel line sits right behind the winch, on the bottom of the cross member under the radiator. I would suspect it was damaged by something like that.

Answer to the age old question-m35a2

they are wearing jackets. After that 95-100 degrees we had last week it dropped back down to 60 degrees and was about 45 last night. Of course our humidity is only about 20% even when it is hot! I wouldn't make it in ok with the humidity! I have one for one battery setup, but not two. You've...

Glad hand service air hose length? 25 or 50?

Just curious does the service air glad hand have pressure on it all the time or is it just with the brake depressed? How is the emergency glad hand designed to be used?

Answer to the age old question-m35a2

My first order of business was to pull the batteries. The battery tray was the updated plastic one. Gonna try trickle charging these, which is probably pointless, but worth a shot. The batteries have stamped shipped 2009. The truck sat here in Montana from about 2011ish on. Just maybe they will...

Answer to the age old question-m35a2

So on my first list of things to replace, I need a passenger lower seat cushion, and the fuel line from the primary filter under the radiator-that line almost looked like copper? Where is the best place to scrounge that stuff up?

    Olaco Fuel Tank

Finally got my fuel tank replaced. It was an original Olaco that has rusted out on the bottom, right next to the seam. I haven't had the time to fix it, so I decided to order a new one. Found Peter Debella stocked a tank with the original Olaco markings. Comparing the two it was a very good...

Yes they all had lights mounted in the back panel. The trailer plug was added July 42 around MB serial number 150,000 roughly.

    1952 M135 W/Winch

The three pics I am trying to show how the body file adjust to be concave or convex depending on the shape of the panel you r trying to work. The four shows that the paddles have different contours. You could really make a paddle out of any different woods. The Eastwood kit is nice and as you...

    1952 M135 W/Winch

You lead a side panel by controlling your heat. It is easier to learn to lead on horizontal to the ground panel. The more heat you apply the more the lead flows. The less, the more solid it is. If you watch the first video he has it pretty hot and kind of piles it on. The video with gene...

    1952 M135 W/Winch

no doubt. He passed a lot of info on to my father. He would work on a panels with a hammer and dolly, not damage the paint, and get the vehicle back in the road where other were replacing and painting panels. He was amazing. He took a Mazda van, cut a bunch of different features off different...

    1952 M135 W/Winch

If you are wanting something that is permanent, lead-ing is permanent. The way you shape it is by using a body file. It's old school before the body filler days, but can be a lot of work. If you think of solder copper pipe, body leading is similar. The metal must be prepped with an acid(flux)...

G749 Trucks hard to come by

Heres another XM211 close to home. Owner sounds like he might be willing to part with it. Another Civil Defense truck was really clean inside.

well that too. I think plowboy is holding out on us! Very cool that you were able to help him, its neat what happens to keep these trucks on the road. I suspect there is many more parts in Canada than the US, since the US military used them for a shorter duration than the Canadian military. Well...

    MB GPW axle ratios

I've found, typically the early cj2as had 5.38:1 gearing. Never found a MB/GPW that were geared anything but 4.88:1! Have a 47n 2a that is also geared at 5.38:1 although I have heard they can also be geared at 4.88:1

G749 Trucks hard to come by

Usmc I would agree with you. I've got his business card so I may see if he would let me know before he did that. We could at least posted and someone get a shot at it. Especially sheet-metal doesn't weigh much
