Bill,
You'll find the pickup tubes are brass so a steel can will be fine. My grav setup is steel and it always makes me nervous setting it up. I don't think the old pickup fits a Spectra, but I don't bother with that new junk anyway...;) You tell us if it fits if you go that route.
As far as...
I have this same problem. Any chance of helping me locate where in the TMs the adjustment procedures might be? Both for idle speed and how the shut off is supposed to be adjusted ("just so") in the IP? I have a picture in my head, but some more info from the TMs might prior to diving in...
To answer your questions, I spend as little time as I can on the internet (I would rather do work than surf). I have been doing civilian and military restorations for almost 30 years so you get an idea of where the "go to" places are. Then and Now is one of them. The "sucking" fuel pickup...
Now that spring is here, here are some pics of the Deuce in winter dress. The winterization blankets work ...ok. I think they help when it's below zero, but it's not a huge help. I would think the winterization heater for the powerplant would be the very best to have... which I cannot afford...
One last comment. Your C3 TM is setup for the "standard" 25 amp dc generators and regulators. My genset (and another guy's I've been emailing) is the 19 amp model. The 19 amp model is a two wire from the dc generator (verses the 3 wire for 25 amp) and it's 1 wire to the battery (verses 2 out...
OK, the vendors name is "Then and Now". If your fuel pump is stock, it will be a Delco. On the base that mounts to the engine, will be a number that is stamped. That is the model number and they will need that to send you the right kit. Here is their URL: Fuel Pump Rebuilding Kits - Then And Now...
I'm still looking for the vendor's name, sorry it's taking so long. How many pages is the -20 C3 manual? I am having trouble with the regulator and the regular -20 manual has the wrong one in it. I would love to get my hands on that section. I have only scanned about 10 pages from the -35...
Bill,
A rebuild kit is available for the fuel pump. I rebuilt mine and it was easy. The kit comes with the one way valves, diaphragm, gaskets, screen, etc. A nice kit for $35 for your exact pump. It even has a modern diaphragm that will not degenerate in modern gas. I will try and dig up...
Hey, nice generator!!! It's a keeper.
The safety switch builds up heat in the resistor that pops the bimetal switch. Ya, if you figure it out, let us know... so that we know. It was a mystery to me too. there are lots of modern therm-o-disk switches on eBay that you might be able to use. Just...
Bill,
Sorry for the delayed response --> traveling for work.
If you get a response from therm-o-disk, post it here. I called them many times and never got one ounce of satisfaction. Good luck. That being said, you can take the safety switch apart, clean it, and it will probably work unless...
The stock carb rebuild kit is still available at your FLAPS. The only difficult part to find is the governor spring on the throttle shaft, but other carb springs will work (and that's what I had to do). There are several very close TSX NOS carbs on eBay if you need one that are close enough to...
Check your flame switch to see if it's stuck (will require disassembly). Also check the on off winterization switch behind the operators panel.
The fuel regulator in attached/inside the winterization unit. The device you are referring to is the electric fuel pump for the winterization unit...
Oh yes, it got the full banana. The winterization system is essential for its rated start at -65 F (thats 65 below zero for you southlanders). The motor, fuel pump and combustion switch were easily refurbished. However, I could not find parts for the fuel regulator valve (diaphragm mostly). I...
Thanks for the comments. I'm starting to gather that there aren't a lot of restorers on the list. I learned a fair bit on this project as I hadn't worked with three phase for awhile. It was very interesting to see how the designer implemented single and three phase from 120 to 240 V into one...
As the title line reads, what's the difference between the AMA-5104UT and AMA-5102AT alternators? From what I can tell the 5104 is the newer version of the 5102. I have the 5104 and see that all the TM's are for the 5102. Any leads on the TMs for the 5104? I tried LOGSA with no luck.
Who sells...
I used a structural c channel with very similar dimensions to the stock deformed channel (except much thicker) and it works fine. Drilling the holes for the mounts was a bit of a challenge and you have to tap all the little holes for the data plates. I even tested it to see if it would shear...
deuceman51,
I'm in Brookings as well. I agree, let's do a MV meet, no matter how small this summer. I would be great!
Thanks,

I need new ear cushions for my H-161 headsets. I've checked the archives... vendors I know of... and even called the manufacturer ($150 minimum order). A Astrocom 10215 (5965-00-815-2525 or 5965-00-058-1246) or Radiolabs TC 182 D335-1 are what are worn out. I don't want the fabric ones (like...
