    Did you have any trouble getting the spring back on??? Mine is not wanting to stay down in the grove. I get one side in and the other pops up.

    There really isn't a lot that can go wrong in the sprag unless the outer teeth got sheared off. These pic are of a 5 ton's but I assume the 2 1/2 is the same just smaller. Well I see in another thread where one got HOT. So I guess that was from going the wrong way maybe.

    Does any one know how to get the spring back in the sprag clutch?? I got it in once but it popped out again as I was trying to put it back on the shaft.

    For all of you that said to pull the flywheel and replace the rear main seal................. It was seeping some so good call!! Don't know if it was the seal or the tube of silicone they used on the retainer. It sure came off easy even the seal. The retainer has the 3 holes , so plus there...

    :roll: Well life got in the way again... Got the tuck in the shop last week and started the project again. Trying to find where I put all the parts has been a pain. Found the u-joints needed replaced. Had the one's for the front shaft all ready , but had to ordered the ones for the winch drive...

    Personally I prefer the 5lb ones that have the hose and if you get one with the metal head they are refillable. Just get one that comes with the bracket. Shop around prices very.     Yes, that is much better :). I had a TI that would take a 6 inch steel ruler and count the twists per inch and you had better be right. ROFL
