The reason I asked if the MF pump can be used for gas, my fuel tank has pin holes along the top and side. It's repairable now, but might have more problems once all the trash is cleaned out. I have a fairly new MF tank, MF pump bracket, and electric pump assembly from an M109 SPFA fuel tank. I...
I read somewhere, think it was a VW forum, about revitalizing stiff rubber with a veggie based oil. I used a punch and a hammer to gently drive the pins out. The punch should fit snugly into the pins. Reattaching the cables isn't to much of a choir. Flux the cable real well, melt solder into the...
I used to work on H1's before GM started to make H2/3's. Almost all H1 parts will cross with the basic M998. The problems come in with electrical and Heavy/Armoured variants since frame and suspension parts are upgraded. Some parts are coded "military only" and can't be purchased. This pertains...
Steward,
The pump is made by AC Delco, so you might find a rebuildable core from a GM truck of the era. You'd just have to remember to use your pump lever. It would be easier to buy a new or rebuilt pump. I get all my gas engine parts from Memphis Equipment. Some other vendors sell parts, but...
The plungers are the unloader valves. If they're stuck open, no pressure buildup. If your generator has a thick cable screwed to the top that runs to a black box on the firewall, it's a 25amp. 60amp has three wires attached to it. If it's 25amp, the generator is probably fine, might need to be...
I have a M45 chassis that has the forward brake line run all the way forward and across the front cross member, then splits to the front axle. My truck being a gasser, i would surmise they change was made with the multi-fuel engine.
Here's a small update. Four of the six pistons are moving freely. I read about using a press to pop the pistons free of the sleeves. it worked on one piston, still trying to get all the corrosion removed that has build up between the sleeve wall and ring lands. Everytime i soak them down with...
With the weather starting to cool off, I've been working on getting the power plant for the compressor unseized. After sitting most of the summer with ATF in the cylinders, Two cylinders were free, while the other four pushed their liners out. The powerplant is a Waukesha 195 GLC with dry...
I haven't been able to get the pins loose yet. I'm going to finish inspecting the rest of the brake assemblies and see if all the pins are frozen and work from there. I have to replace all the wheel cylinders too. I will update soon.
