I wonder if any were swamped and sitting on the bottom of Chesepeak Bay, not that I'd condone any diving around APG. So much bad stuff in the water there.
The stock engine will do 80 mph easily, the military purposely detuned the engines to keep the speed down. I used to work on civilian Hummers/H1's and a 4 door "wagon" as they're labled will do 110mph like skating on ice, so smooth.. I think the detuning involved the retarding if mechanical...
Here's another thing to consider about buying a carb kit. is the kit NOS or new? NOS kits may not handle ethanol very well, while new kits should have the ability to handle ethanol.
Here's where I buy my kits from...
Does it still have the driveshat parking brake or was it upgraded to dual service/parking brake calipers? Did you use a power bleeder to flush the sytem or do it manually?
What you have is the early, non-radioactive detector. M43A1 detectors used americium to detect agents, the M43 was enzyme based. As far as worth, I don't know. Does it have the remote alarm?
From what I understand, DOT3 was used until the 70-80's. If it was never converted to DOT5, it should be ok. Are the wheel cylinders leaking? I'm doing a similar rebuild on my brakes and replacing all six wheel cylinders. I'd love to help with their issue, but it's a long drive from Florida.
It's been about a week or so going out, spraying the anchors from both sides, soak then tap. Think I'm going to use two nuts, lock them against each on the anchor, and try using rotational forces to break the anchors loose.
Nope, whole bunch of nope.. lol at least I have more information and options to get these anchor pins free. I want to thank everyone for their contributions. I've used the acetone/ATF mix on frozen pistons. I have three of six pistons free. Probably going to wire brush around the pins before...
was using a propane torch, the light breeze kept blowing out the torch. Hot=burning paint off backing plate, no glow. I wish the backing plate was removable, would chuck it up in a press.
I've been working on getting my brakes in working order. New master cylinder, air pack, steel and rubber lines. Working on getting each wheel working. Last time I moved the truck, had a wheel dragging. I finally was able to get the dragging wheel apart by unbolting the wheel cylinder and tapping...
Just pulled the wheel cylinder off my deuce. The WC is at least 25 yrs old and has the straight spring. The cup end show a bit of corrosion from sitting, but slide nice from soaking in DOT3. Probably going to replace it since there are signs of pitting where the pistons sat. MFR: Wagner Lockheed
Your emergency stop switch is broken. Probably the red part has broken away from the actual switch. The red part can be pulled out with a little force and you'll be able to grab the switch and pull it out or you could just jump the switch.
Push in the circled circuit breaker, then see what happens. I don't know why I missed that before. The circuit breaker kills all power to prevent battery drain through the instruments.
We used to have this problem of no-start. If the fuse is good, make sure your emergency stop switch is working correctly. The was a rash of cheaply made ES switches. The red part would break away from the actual switch internals. even though it's pulled out for run, the switch is still in an...
Stuck pistons
After failing to get the aircompressor engine to turn over, I reluctanly pulled off the head to find a few rusted cylinders. I filled them with a ATF/Acetone mix and bolted the head back on. Hopefully the pistons will release. Google hasn't given me a warm and fuzzy about...
