You could always lookup what on H1 uses, same vehicle but rides tons better. If I remember correctly, the stock batteries for an H1 aren't huge like two 6tls since the batteries are located under the hood.
Top Speed Military 2 seat, no cargo 1990 M998: possibly 85-95mph, speedometer needle was bottom center of the dial
Top Speed 2001 H1, 6.5 Turbo: 110 mph
three things that may prevent the swap from working: bolt holes/ mounting & spacing, transfer case clocking, and input shaft depth/ tooth count. When I changed the transmission in my Jeep from a TF999 to a TF727, all the bolt holes lined up. The tranfercase's clocking was slightly different. It...
For towing, You could always put the transmission and transfer in neutral. My gasser was missing the front drive shaft when I bought it. Guess someone didn't like the sprag transfer case snapping back on them. What carburetor is on your gasser?

Spent this morning making new gaskets for the float bowl. I have some on order, but I'm impatient. I was able to get the engine running after filling the float bowl with fresh gas. It ran nice until it started pulling the old stale, 5 year old gas from the tank. I'm not sure if all cylinders are...
I pulled the radiator off to try and turn the engine over by hand. Luckily, the socket that fits a VW Bug's rear axle nut, is the same size as the crankshaft nut on the OA331. I figured out why the engine was turning so slow, the truck was in gear. O.o Now it spins freely and dropped both...
If I put the two 550 CCA batteries in parallel and used a third battery with something over 800 CCA to make 24v, then that should be enough juice to spin this cold engine over?
I've finally have made it back down to my parent's house to work on my Deuce. It's been about 4 years since she last ran and now she doesn't want to turn over. Here's what I've done/ have. Before someone says "because it's cold", It was turning over slow before the bottom fell out the...

Have you tried contacting the Engineer Historian/ curator at Fort Leonardwood? When I was there making copies of manuals for my truck mounted air compressor, I took in the shelves and shelves of historic TM's they had on hand. If the same guy and assistant are there from 10 yrs ago, they are...
I haven't read this post in a long time, but I have to laugh. I understand the increase in amperage, but I think that only applies if one is trying to us 12v to spin up something 24v. I could be wrong tho. Having had to replace both my front and rear harnesses on my deuce, I know the wires are...
Here's the dimensions for the upper hose

Overall Length: approx. 11 inches
