Yeah there not bad. Well if you have an electric fuel pump. I did it to the mep831 and just cracked the line on the injector until I got fuel there and started it up. It took a few seconds then smoothed right out.

I’d be careful with this style. I got one for my mep831 to run 12volt lights and charge cell phones well it caught fire. Thank god I installed a battery isolation switch. For 50 bucks you can get one that is really nice and rated for 250watts.

You could always ask kloppk if he is going to make any more conversion kits. Look at my posts I just finished mine with a few other mods.

Having a taper shaft isn’t a big deal either an adaptor or get a Daytona coupler I’ve modified one for a customer to run on a taper shaft. I’d go for it. If I get my hands on one before the winter I’ll throw it on. You could always buy a different crank from Yanmar. It’s not to bad to tear it...
I have given it slot of though about putting a l100 on my old snow blower. It’s got a 7hp 1977 motor on it that needs a break. I think the l70ae would be fine but more power the better lol. I’ll see if I can get a picture of the old girl

New update time!! Finally got the panel lights wired In. The most I might add is an 8amp fuse this will be 2 amps below the transformer limit. I thought about a relay but for such a light draw I dont think I need it. I like the locking switch from cutler hammer don’t want to give away my...
Pictures are worth a thousand words. Also where are you reversing the wires? At the gfci or deeper in the genset?
Also more info on your entire setup would be good too.
It’s not a big deal on the convenience receptacle. As long as your lugs are wire correctly to you sub panel.

That’s the next thing on my list. I have a set of paint samples coming in to find what color it is. I’m also working on sourcing stencils for all the warnings and markings to paint in after. I’ll make sure to rivet in some stainless screen and then paint it all. For now she’s safely tucked away...
Hey everyone time to add a few more photos got some more work done on the gen set. Installed a 24volt to 12volt step down transformer. It’s rated at 200watts. This will power the 2 red led panel lights as well as a usb charging port on the front I have yet to install. The charging port will be...
It sounds like a fuel issue. There not much that can cause that. Fuel and air. Did you bleed the fuel system at the injectors? And do you have new injectors? Try swapping an injector to another cylinder and if the problem moves that the issue.

I actually just finished my conversation and I got my kit from Kurt. Here’s the link to my thread on it. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/mep831a-conversion-time.216104/

Start with a topic under the generator section. Post pictures of the unit and a video. I’d start with the tm and read through the trouble shooting section. Others a lot smart then me will chime in.

This is very interesting. I wanted to do this but have no idea how to. I have a friend that’s an electrical engineer. I’m going to shoot him the print and see if he could get a board built. If he can I’ll pick up another 831 and try it. Thanks for this!!

Thanks!! They are great trucks. I know it was an extra cab with a 440 big block and a 4 speed. If I’m remembering correctly it was a beautiful dark cherry with a 6 inch lift. If I come across a picture I’ll definitely post it.
The battery cover is HDPE. I will be doing a job at work with 12x12...
