Said CUCVRUS to the little cat.Do you see what I see? A wire a wire attached incorrect with the end dug into the floor , with the end dug into the floor. Way up above the fuel tank little cat. The wire the wire dug into the floor with a job that gets out of sight to fix.
After giving it, some thought I think I am just going to remove the rear axle and do all the work out from under the vehicle. I will just cut the hydraulic brake line and remove the E brake cables and backing plates. It seems a lot more comfortable and safer than working completely under there...
I removed the axle u bolts and leaf springs from the rear axle. I used the brass brush on the drill and cleaned and lubed the threads
Good news was the gears were good in the rear. I pulled the axles and called it a day. I will post more progress as it happens. I started work at 0500...
Well I knew something was messed up when I seen the gap in the u joint straps to the yoke. I will change the yoke and the yoke seal. This why you clean the threads and run a thread chaser thru the yoke. 1 bolt is broken off and it was way too tight.
It is a flared line. Are you in a big hurry for this line? I maybe have one. Maybe. I do if I can find it. I have had them rattle to pieces before from not being secure in the clamps to the block up front.
All good things must come to an end, just like the CUCV repairs that never end they just keep going and going. You know where I”m going. I hope you had a successful day. I feel like I did.
I raced with the daylight and won. It was a close match. Left fender apron is in.
Questionable battery trays. We will see approach and use extreme caution. The holes were placed in the aprons with 000 buck shot. Not by me.
I added a slave receptacle and a B/O lamp to the core support. That genius that worked on it in the past removed all that stuff and hacked the wires off. Hopefully the owner of this M1009 is smiling and liking my efforts, I am going to start putting the left fender apron in place and race the...
I have the right inner fender apron installed. Whoever the person was that drilled it for battery boxes must have been stoned. I could have done better blind folded. Now that I have them in place I question if that is why it had riding mower batteries in it. I guess I will find out real soon...
Both hubs and brakes together now is lunch time. [
Also I have a brand new front light harness to replace the hacked up harness that is on the truck now.
New calipers and I am using the brake pads over. They are still good. I noticed the broken clip for the inner pad and had a used replacement .
I will post my progress out in the barn yard. Be Safe or stay home. Nobody wants to play with me,
You are never off topic. You are a friend and you may ask anything on my thread. But on your question that is just an ink pad stamp from the New Process company or a code where the casting was made. Many numbers and codes are stamped on parts and other components. Like I mentioned in the past I...
