I agree, which is why I put it in quotes... Although anecdotally we know the handles seem to last a lot longer in other applications. Then again they do break often enough in cars. Late 2000s Maseratis have a similar door handle disease except it's the interior handle. Plastic components...
That just heightens the mystery, actually. That's the LVAD, but it has air springs and a soft skin cab just like the rest, at least originally. My theory depends on them having a FMTV variant which doesn't have airbags, since the switch for them is missing on that part. Shrug. Who knows? Thanks...
Haha, we're going around in circles. Look it up in... what? The TMs we have are for OUR trucks. We already know this part is not for OUR trucks. It's for some OTHER mystery trucks. The guess is the late model FMTVs with the full armor cabs but we don't have those TMs. I don't even know if they...
They are widely available on a popular auction website. The grey gaskets are always Viton. The black gaskets "might" be. If you store petrol, you need Viton. Diesel does not matter.
If someone knows how to look that up... I've checked the usual online databases and they don't seem to have the UOC information. In the TM (-24P) it assumes you want to use it on a FMTV since that's what the manual is for.
On the A0 trucks the -24P specifies two parts. 12420621 and 12420621-001. The latter is CAGE 0FW39 (BAE) and the latter is CAGE 19207 (US Tank Automotoive Cmd). They do the same job but the valve arrangement and subparts different, so they call it out. The NSN is 4730-01-457-8479 and when you...
Yeah my blackout stuff works fine and there is no way I would want to be a lead vehicle following 3ft of sickly tepid cyan glow. I suppose it might be all-right if you were following - watch the brake lights up front and they didn't fall into a hole so maybe you won't either. Having some IR...
Believe it or not the blackout driving light is intended to be used without nods. Which seems amazing when you actually try to do it. With my PVS-7 I don't need the lights at all, but man, does the window have to be clean and zero illumination in the cab.
I think a major problem with the FMTV handles isn't necessarily that they are expensive (plenty of things are expensive), it's that they break "prematurely", and, moreover, are seemingly difficult to obtain. They seem to come from different places but the obvious implication is recycled FMTVs...
So uh the original fluid is apparently H5606 (for trivia's sake), and I went with Mil H 23282. This is the synthetic version of 5606. Overkill: probably. Both 23282 or 5606 are going to be anti-corrosive.
It's a state by state thing. In FL, out of state violations translate to points on your record the last time I checked. Other states don't transfer the points, it just depends. The key is not whether the offense has points in PA, but whether the CORRESPONDING offense does in FL. You will take...
My winter experience is in the Washington cascades, and actual sub-freezing temperatures. I don't recall ever getting hard starts here in AZ, even in winter.

Everyone loves mechanical diesel injection right. I have heard these engines are hard to start in the cold and spent my first two years of owning the truck waiting for that problem, only for it to never materialize. A few times mine has started weak (rumbles and puffs smoke and then catches and...
