Okay this has been batted around and I would like to hear and see 1980-1992 gun trucks. Were they armored? Were they called gun trucks? Yes we had all manner of vehicles that had gun mounts but I don't remember a single one that had added armor, this goes for jeeps though 5 tons. Love you...
As for the whole CUCV I would use the WD-40 it makes carc look new and is easy to use, doesn't last as long as oil but not as hard to apply.

May have been because of what I was doing at the time or the difference in price back then but only saw CUCV's getting cut down for FAV/DPV use.

Okay so in the era of the CUCV most gun trucks did not get much if any uparmor, so the armor is not enough to say one way or the other if they were gun trucks. I am of the opinion that the CUCV's were very heavily armed in many instances and for that reason alone could be classed as a gun truck...
You might wnt to start there and remove one valve at a time and clean and check each one through out the whole air system, many of these are full of rust and hidden problems.

You can't look at the fuel lines and tell if they are good. If you want to test instead of replace then you will need to unhook at the tank and the filter then plug one end and pressurize the line and check for leaks then do the line to the pump the same way around 40 psi should be good.

Just start changing every piece of rubber hose, fuel lines first, then belts ect.. Then filters and fluids. Look at disabling the transfer case auto engagement switch, so you can drive on pavement in low range and back up in low if you need to. If the transfer case lever is hard to shift you...
155mm I think you are on the right track with your local truck shop, the bill for the obvious stuff is going to be so high they are going to total it anyhow. You might offer them your TM's to get times from and give them Memphis equipment and Oshkosh's phone number for parts prices.

Thanks 98g I had been racking my poor little brain trying to remember that acronym IROAN and for those who don't know, it stands for Inspect and Replace Only As Needed.

I have seen them in 818, 931,and 915, 916, 920's. I like them but because of the clock they will kill batteries if the truck is not driven regularly. Also good way to keep your drivers in line you can see every shift RPM and stop, logs everything.
