    m1008 trailer electrical receptacle

If your CUCV already has the 12-pin connector and a properly working cable, you do not need an adaptor. Purchase a standard 7-pin or whatever commercal cable, fire up the CUCV, turn on the lights, grab a meter and measure the voltage on each of the 12-pins and match them to the proper pin on the...

    m1009 replacement floor pan question

I purchased my replacement pans from LMC truck. However, they required much...much...adjustment. Welding skill is a must.

    Cargo Strap Clean-Up made easy!

I use Gempler's rust converter. It is water based and it will clean up your rust issues. It may take two coats but it will turn all the rust to primer, seal it, and you are ready to paint. It will look almost new when finished.

    R.I.P.-- John Winslow

John did not smoke or have any other bad habits. His father is 88-years old and still can be seen working around the farm most days. This photo was taken a couple days before he died.

    GL & HUMMVe

I spent 2-hours going through the vehicles last Thursday under GL escort. I realize not all GL personnel know everything. However, they allowed me time to review the trucks and DRIVE one of the black ones. It had been used for recruitment...nice black color with US Army...Army of One written in...

    GL & HUMMVe

There are 32 early (non-turbo) HUMMVe trucks to go on the block via GL at Warner Robbins in 72-days. Some have 6.2 engines and others are 6.5 but all that I viewed had mechanical IPs...no computer driven stuff. None of the trucks are armored. Some have tarps...some are pickups, a few are slant...

The trailer tongue is from an M1082A1. It makes one wonder what happened to the remainder of the trailer. See attached M1082 photos.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

The stock mounts to the floor pan do not work. The backs do not fold forward. These seats are used in the 5-ton MRAP trucks. The seat height is fixed at installation. I removed the crushable explosion absorption feature from the MRAP seat as it made the seat far two high for the CUCV cab. I...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Fixed seats except for the turning. I like the head protection offered. However, I fixed the seats to be about 5-inches off the back of the cab. I did not want the vibration and it allowed the seats to turn and face the open door as required. Like the M105A3 beds, the M101A3 beds have smaller...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Your five foot three sweetie will hate these seats. However, they are far more comfortable than the bench seats especially on longer rides. With the bigger tires and the MRAP seats, it is an absolute climb into the truck. I am 5' 11". Without handles for climbing like on my Dodge, the technique...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

It is a bed from an M101A3. The 4 x 8 fits. The wheel wells line up perfectly as well. Took a few shims under the bed to make it all work.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Three years and 30,000 miles of driving to rebuild to almost new and in some cases better utility and function.

    Starting MEP002/003

Good to be here. I died 23 March and was airlifted to the UVA medical center. I have been fighting a rare lung pathogen. Only one in 100,000 with lung issues get it. I picked it up traveling overseas jan 2011. I had to learn to walk again. Lost 100 lbs in 10-months. I still need help crawling...

    Starting MEP002/003

These engines are not the norm. The Cummins/Onan engines are designed for a life of 20,000 hours of the sort of "abuse" that makes you uncomfortable. Run it long, often, and service it to the TM requirements and there is little need to worry.

    Reasonable IP rebuild price?

I have replaced IPs in two of my CUCV trucks. I spent $673.00 each for the rebuilt part and labor to install and calibrate. They run smooth, smooth, smooth. There is no engine shake or vibration and the shifting is so smooth one hardly realizes the shift from 1st to 2nd. Work was done in Culpeper VA

    MK48 Observations and Questions

. Be careful what you wish for. You are so right! From my perspective, they are good for turning copious amounts of fuel into noise and the ability to make one's nipples hard for a week or so. However, there are cheaper ways to do both. Of course there is the 'cool' factor. One cannot...
