I am working on a set of these for my M1009 to match the ones here in the M1028. They are far more comfortable and especially so on longer trips. I am considering these as back seats as well...perhaps even three across.
I removed the tires that came with my M105A3 and replaced them with tires from a bolster trailer. They are lower and wider. Using the surge brakes, it is a fine and well balanced trailer for the Dodge ram and the dully CUCV.
I use nothing but my military 24-volt wrench. However, I only use it on the MV stuff. One must go easy when using it on the CUCVs and some of the lightweight trailers.
Have you ever cleaned the inside of your fuel tank since owning the truck? Have you replaced the fuel lines from the tank and the one going to the IP. They are at least 25-years old and made of rubber. Did you cut open the first fuel filter and inspect for water or perhaps "black specs?"
I agree with you regarding the tread on the new tires. However, I won a a lot of 12 of the tires from GL. Since both my M818s have less than 3000 miles on their tires and have far more agressive tread still, I opted to put the new tires on the trailer. Gl made a video of our operation and put...
I won this exceptional M127 this spring out of M'burg PA. I just finished rebuilding the brakes and replacing the brake housing. The housings are the same as those on the 800 series trucks. Memphis Equipment had them for $58 each. The deck is almost new along with the paint.
Just added nine...
I just replaced the entire floor of my M1009 with all new steel plates. Purchased them from www.lmctruck.com The total parts were $629 including shipping (heavy) Everything fit perfectly and it took me about sevenh ours total to finish.
I welded in a plate and attached a heavy duty bulldog jack onto my M105A3. I've never seen an A3 with anything other than the cheesey jacks. I purchased mine out of Bragg. I took off the great bed and replaced it with an M105A2 bed. Now I have a surge-brake M105 and hope to soon have a great new...
I must make a final comment. The fire extinguishers found in the first photo are not up to the job should there be a fire on start up. They are power based and the crap will be sucked into the engine exhaust stack. It will damage and corrode everything it touches. The minimum is two, 20 lb CO2...
If you thought it had been fun up to this point, just wait until you are full-throttle, the runway diappeared beneath the aircraft and the landing gear stowed, your nipples from that point will be painfully hard for a week or more. Nice looking machine.
If you did not use this technique, when...
