The bought the freezer unit from GL at Portsmouth last November. I paid $1500 plus bid fee. It is in excellent condition except for the rear doors that have bent rods in the doors which I have since fixed.
Be patient. The trailers come up several times each year. There were two on the auction...
Follow this link to another posting of mine. It is the perfect trailer solution for your 2-man, 20-foot shelter. The trailer empty weight is 3500 lbs but rated for 21,000 lbs. It already had the cam locks for mounting the shelter. I bought mine last November out of Ft Meade for $883.99 including...
The photos posted above are of a 20-foot aluminum truck bed mounted on the bolster. Certainly a 20-foot box could be mounted but there are other trailers that would work better for the box. Not to mention the weight limit of the trailer.
See the MCT200 trailer below. It comes with the corner...
The fuel tank and gen-set is a good idea though it is a bit of overkill and does not have a cover. It carries a 12-foot container on the deck. In fact, there are rails that slide out the rear for winching the container onto the deck. There are three "bolsters" that fit over the container at the...
OK, so the bolster trailer idea is a bit much and the 9 x 20s will not fit it. However, it has a deck height equal to the deuce bed.
I have another trailer that is the M1082A1 which is a 2.5 ton, single axle trailer. It uses the 395 singles. I suspose you COULD switch them to 9 x 20s. The...
It appears that you have stumbled upon one of those pesky M1009s that has 12-volts everywhere but the starter. Check for details in your technical manual
I know you expressed interest in 9 x 20s but if you are off road, need to carry a load, wish to remain under 26,000 lbs, and still use a Deuce, you might want to consider the M796 bolster trailers. It is rated 4-tons off road. the duel axlels with four wheels are lower to the ground and each...
Install a second fuel tank on the truck. Use one for "normal" operation and one for the waste/cooking oil. I start the morning with petrol-diesel. After warmup and traveling, I switch to the other tank and run from it all day. I end the day by switching to the petrol-diesel again for the last...
Another thought on the use of Av-Gas in multi-fuel trucks or in automotive engines. Unlike gasoline blended for automotive engines, Av-Gas destroys the rubber and other seals found in the multi-fuel engines and the same holds true for automotive engines.
If my personal A3 were a bungee cord, I would IN FACT feel comfortable tying it around my ankles and go jumping. However, it took me more than a year until I could say that...
People buy what they understand. In the past, there were more people able to use and employ M101 trailers than M105 trailers, thus the price of M101s have usually been higher. There are more people that understand CUCVs than M35s causing the price of CUCVs to be high compared to the M35s. The...
If you can't afford to ship it, you can't afford to buy it. Sure, many, many guys drive them home and most do so successfully. This site is filled with those success stories. However, it your A3 were a bungee cord, would you tie it around your ankles, and throw your ass off a bridge?
If you are making your own cables, go to a good welding supply store. Take a plug with you. The Nato plugs have large fittings. They also should be water proof. Each side of the plug needs proper fitting little "O" rings in the fittings. Also, the military grade cable has a jacket more than...
You mentioned new stems last November. Might these be tubeless tires? If so, you may need to dismount the tires, remove rust from the rims, lightly sand the rims, treat them, and remount the tires after cleaning the tire walls as well.
If you lived near me, you'd be welcome to drive one of my M818s. I can assure you that once you drive a 5-tonner and later drive a Deuce, the only reason you would consider a Deuce might be price. However, $3500-$4500 will get you a reasonable deuce or a 5-tonner.
