euc's on gens and gen trailers

It was mentioned several weeks ago by the Ft Meade drmo that the EUC requirement for things like the smaller trailers would be going away. I thought to myself...yeah right...I'll believe it when I see it.

    reputable CUCV Dealers

This is my opinion and will not jiv with most here. You are ultimately responsible for the repair and upkeep of these 25-year old trucks. Yeah, you can buy one in reasonable condition and it will work for a while but the little things can and will eat your lunch. Buy a good crapper; do it...

    How to get it home?

Like an old dog out chasing tires in the road, suddenly, one day you managed to actually catch one and roll it to the curb only now you're scratching your butt not knowing what to do with it. Congratulations! The truck you purchased from Cape Canaveral yesterday looks fine and you did not...

    M35A3 Title Problems in Georgia

I believe the problem is in the fact that you are requesting an SF-97 from GL. Ask for a title from GL. They now deliver an Arizona title when requesting a title from them. Take it to the DMV and it becomes a simple transfer of title like any other out of state vehicle sale. Just make sure it...

    vin problem

When buying from GL, their instructions say to wait until one picks up the vehicle before requesting the "97" because YOU must verify the data on the vehicle data plate. The fact that it is not exactly as advertsed on the auction does not matter after you leave the GL lot. If all the other...

Gen 1 and Gen 2 Alt Belts compatible ??

This post is still sitting lonely here all day and not a single response. Here is the short of it. The three different NAPA belt numbers for the CUCV are: 7480 7575 7455 The total price for all three belts without tax is $33.55. These are the "premium" belts manufatured by Walker. I'll...

    air in fuel system

Your truck could be plumbed for a second fuel tank. If a second tank is not installed, there will be a piece of rubber at the end of the line at a "Y" where the second tank would joint the system. I is located in the area under the passenger side. This rubber had crapped out on my unit. It will...

MEP-003A No-start After Fuel Filter Replacement

If all else fails, there is an overheat sensor that can crap out on you. If it is trashed, the unit will shut down immediately upon releasing the start and run switch after holding the switch for the required 15-seconds after startup.

    Fuel problem

Fuel pump working? It appears to have no fuel pressure. Did the fuel come in the truck? Did you drain the tank? Have you changed the fuel filter?

    M1008 Th400 broken case issue

Place any and all drive shafts on a perfectly flat surface and roll them. No matter how straight they may appear, many are bent. Anyone that purchases a CUCV with a bent shaft from GL should expect to at least replace the transmission case along with the shaft especially if you listen to the guy...

You are correct in most towns except the Washington DC area.

Well...the tranny went last night in my M1009

Where do you live in Virginia? If you are not too far from Madison, VA, Weaver's there do all my tranny work. It is a 40-mile hike for me but well worth it. I usually pay about $800-$1100 for a complete transmission rebuild in the HT400 and they do it right.

Anybody win the M818 at Ft. Riley? WOW!!

There were a bunch of really fine trucks at excellent prices coming out of Eastover last Spring and Summer but everyone has discovered the location and the prices have changed significantly. The trucks for the most part still appear in good order. Someone snaged a cherry M1078, with 1584 miles...

Anybody win the M818 at Ft. Riley? WOW!!

I paid $5100 each for my two M818 rebuilds with less than 50hours and a 1000 miles on each out of Wright Paterson last June. I've put almost 2000 miles on one and 800 on the other and they are perfect in everyway. I miean not so much as even a dabble of surface rust. I replaced a bent mud flap...

    NTC-400 mods

I have been running waste cooking oil in my trucks for more six years. Here in Virginia, I am safe May to November as the gel pont on cooking oil is about 40 degrees compared to 20 on petro-diesel. Cooking oil has far more mositure in it that does not agree with steel fuel tanks. The by-product...

    problems with interstate batteries

No problem here and I own 32 of them in various applications. Proper grounding, good charging systems, routine service and battery disconnect switches make a world of difference or disengage the DC battery fuse on generators when not in use. I keep them charged. The problem is the buildup of...

    Cannibalized while waiting for EUC!

Al, I have a leased farm operation not far from you along the Potomac river near Montross. My best bud from the 4th grade owns the great bar-be-que and entertainment joint just off main street in Kilmarnock. I am in the area once a month or so. In fact, I just returned from a pickup in the...
