odd ball whistle on 1078 ?

It's hard to tell in the video. Is it an air whistling sound, or a brakes screeching sound? Doesn't look like you were going very fast when it was happening. Can you walk alongside it while someone drives it, to listen and pinpoint it? Can you recreate it just by revving the engine, or...

    1078 Timing Cover

Yeah, this is the most likely cause of that crack. The aluminum front part of the engine often cracks because of vibrations from the air compressor. The air compressor has a bracket on the back to support it that occasionally comes loose or is missing, and then the unsupported air compressor...

    Moving my Transmission cooler

Drilling them out isn't hard. You could probably even do it by hand. When I've had custom hoses made for the LMTV, the shops just chucked it up in a lathe and drilled it out... seemed like it wasn't their first rodeo, even though most of the time they didn't notice the difference without me...

    Moving my Transmission cooler

I agree that the truck would probably do ok without the cooler. It's fun to keep the original overkill capabilities of these trucks, though. There is actually science behind upsizing hoses, even if the fittings are the same. (Yes, it matters... drastically sometimes.) Similar to the...

Looking for FMTV CTIS Wheel Protectors

It's a suspicious looking design if it's sheetmetal, because if it was stamped there should be larger radii on the edges of the "cog" shape on the face. Stamping sheet metal into those sharp edges (as well as the steep deep draw of the outer rim) would cause significant thinning (weakening) of...

    3 in 1 tool?

Maybe, but I don't think that's a slam-dunk explanation. Why not just make the tool longer so that it could be removed without the toggle? Paying a worker for several minutes of work to assemble that crimped cable (plus the second machined piece of the toggle) costs more than the extra few...

    3 in 1 tool?

Yes, for measuring the spider gears when re-shimming them. The full circle doesn't fit on my Prusa MK3S, so I have a version of it that still holds all the spider shafts in place but has the arc between them truncated into flats, so that it fits on the rectangular print bed better. Not sure...

    3 in 1 tool?

I don't think it has to do with the CTIS seals. I bought one of the 3-in-1 tools just to have it, measure it, etc. All the needed seal drivers are detailed in the back of the TMs. The 3-in-1 tool doesn't seem to match up to any of them dimensionally, and I still haven't figured out what it's...

    Gap at door

Mine does seal, with no gap, but just barely.

    Which orientation is correct?

    Mine point up.

    CAT 3116 Engine Speed Sensor

Correct. Those schematics above are not the one you changed. The one you changed is on a different page, and is only wired to the tach.

    CAT 3116 Engine Speed Sensor

That sensor has no effect on transmission shifting, because it is connected to nothing other than the tach. You can verify this in the wiring diagrams. The transmission speed sensor is separate, and is located on the transmission housing.

    Cab lift hisssss when activated

Hard to tell from the video, because we can't hear where it comes from. Pushing that button sends air to the pump up behind the cab/spare. Could the be the air line, the pump, or the button (probably in that order).

WHO' S A FULL TIME LMTV OVERLANDER, ANY OUT THERE?

If extremely technical offroad obstacles are your mission, most are just too tippy for an LMTV. But if you just want to get out there and camp far away from civilization, you can get places in an LMTV that others can't. I don't want anyone to read your thoughts, and be dissuaded. I think...

WHO' S A FULL TIME LMTV OVERLANDER, ANY OUT THERE?

They aren't as expensive as you're assuming. I don't have a fancy box on mine, but I definitely get out there in the thick of it, just sleeping in the covered cargo bed. And I don't see how it would be significantly different than a Unimog. Most of the cost for the camper-body vehicles seems...

    Diagnosing CTIS M1078

I think it's in the -10 Operator's Manual. There are several sections in there that outline what all the buttons in the cab do, and others that describe how to operate different functions of the truck in different environments. The more you drive these trucks, the better they seem to be...

Need crash course in M1078 LMTV

Look in the -24P parts TM. It has the part numbers for everything on the truck. That's the place to start.

    Diagnosing CTIS M1078

The TM has a chart of what pressure each button corresponds to (and what speed you can drive at with it).

Need crash course in M1078 LMTV

There are posts about most of these things all the time. You could search, or even just probably look through the most recent couple pages (same goes for your electrical panel post, which was just talked about in the past week or two). There is a bracket/brace on the back of the compressor...

    Aluminum wheels

You could make that two parts, if you wanted... the plate, and a lathed post that screws to the plate. But it would probably be made with a CNC mill anyway, so the groove wouldn't be a problem either way.
