    6x6 only engaging in reverse

I had a 5 ton that did the same thing a while ago, I did a lot of searching and solved my problem with a hint I read: drain the t-case and fill it with diesel and maybe a little tranny fluid and drive it 30 miles or so and drain and re-fill with gear oil. It cleans a lot of gunk out and cured my...

    Drive Shaft lengthening

Just measure from the flange on the axle to the flange on the transfer case, the shop will know what length to make it based on that overall distance.

    m818ww / m814

It is an 816, I have seen it before, I was going to bid on it but was away yesterday and totally forgot. I think it runs but there was a problem with the boom swinging side to side, it won't rotate all the way like it is supposed to. I know it has been sitting there for quite a long time...

Be concerned when you DON'T see oil pressure

    Concerned over oil pressure

Also, I have never put a whole lot of trust into the factory gauges (especially the fuel), to get a true reading one would need to hook up a mechanical gauge at least temporarily to see what it reads.

    Concerned over oil pressure

See if you can find any numbers on your sending unit on the passenger side of the block, I've seen trucks that had mis-matched sending units and gauges. There are 60 psi units and 120 psi units, if the gauge does not match it will give a false reading. For example, if you have a 60 psi sending...

Things I found when I took the rear suspension apart

Check with a local bearing company, it is a very thin sleeve that fits on the shaft to make the bearing or bushing fit snug again. They are usually used when a shaft gets worn instead of replacing it, if the bushing or bearing is worn it's probably best just to replace it.

Things I found when I took the rear suspension apart

I would try to find a speedi-sleeve to make it fit better. That's weird, some of those that I have taken apart have roller bearings in them and some have bushings, not sure if it's a year thing or why they differ.

    Singled out 5-Ton Lugnut Fix

The lower back tat is always a great spot! When you get them (the tires) on post up some pics, or maybe test ride over to my place, I'll be around!

    Singled out 5-Ton Lugnut Fix

Don't be afraid of a little pain, a tattoo is right up your alley! The closed end lug nuts are the same as what you call the "thimble", I do appreciate the different look though!
