RE: Deuce short comings
I had a duece I did a lot of extreme offroading with, I did like it but here are the shortcomings I found.
I put on 11 20 tires and that was nice but all the tires I put on would get huge chunks of rubber chipped out of them , probably old hard tires? stay away from...
Yes Let me know most any weekend will work.
There is a mog festival in Sheraton in August I am going to try to go and camp out at. They encourage any vehicles from Europe to come.Hopefully my schedule allows me to go this year.
Overall It helped a decent amount, the engine is air cooled so it is extremely loud. The main reason I got it done is so I can just hose off the inside to clean it. I just added Dynamat a self adhesive sound deadening material that I put on the inside of the engine cowl and that mad the most...
Here are some pictures, I just got the interior and rubberized floor coating done. I've taken some off road trips and the ability continues to amaze me.
Buddy of mine had one, it feels like very old technology, slow shifting nothing is smooth its got a slow top speed, it does get tons of looks and it is fun to drive but after a while you wish for a smoother faster bike.
I was very lucky to get 2 totally rust free trucks.
I did have to change out one of my cv axles, I couldnt find cv joint by itself so I had to buy the whole axle. It was like $800 plus shipping not cheap.
Who do you buy your axles from?
I bought both of mine here in the u.s. I believe there are only 6 total in the u.s. and I have 2 of them I was really lucky to find them locally. I did have to ship one from accross the country which cost me $8000 just for shipping.
I havnt had tire leaking issues, mainly hub issues due to...
There are lots of good pics on this thread but they seem to come and go. I dont see them anymore either?
Anyone know how to contact a moderator to find out why?
The OT-64 is on a Tatra 813 chassis which is absolutely awsome offroad.
I almost purchased a OT-64 a few months ago and was talked out of it from a friend that had one and sold it because he spent $40k+ on it and in 2 years drove about 7 miles total. Every time he drove it it broke down and had...
Most guys arent lucky enough to have buddys with huge trucks to pull them out, at least big enough to pull out military vehicles.
That is why I had to buy a second Tatra, so if I get stuck I had a rescue vehicle (thats what I told my wife anyway).
It seems like if you really want to do harcore...
RE: Re: RE: 5 ton v.s. duece
Thanks for the info the main thing I was getting at is how nimble it is in compariston, but the duece istn very nimble, its slow and lacks power in my opinion, so looks like it would be better off for me than a 5- ton. Im not currently looking for one just always...
I found a complete factory bulldozer attachment in chz for one of my trucks, I am trying to purchase it, the price is decent so as long as shipping isnt too crazy Im going to get it, Ill keep you posted with pics.
I have owned dueces and was curious what the differences were between it and the 5- ton asside from the size difference.
turning radius?
top speed?
engine differences?
Thanks
Very nice custom job!!
Ive seen pics of a guy down there in Florida that has a 5 ton with 53's )super singles, and he put a dodge picup body on it (red) it looks sweet, Ive been trying to get the guys number I would love to buy it from him.
