Momma Allison advised that in my "new" warranted retran, that 15w40 oil is no longer used and that Transynd is the only accepted oil... the retran was completed 3 months ago... Observations over the last 600 miles with Transynd is much smoother shifts , once the tranny is at operating...
yikes using antifreeze and a balancing agent..if your CTIS is functioning correctly it will purge all the antifreeze after a period of time ..I used balancing beads @30oz per tire when I installed 5 new tires...noticable difference in vibration....but then again I don't run more than 40-45mph ...
Replaced the 2 alternator belts as well as the water pump belt while I was in there… modified to a 2 battery set up since one of my 4 6TL batteries went flat….as a side note, check your alternator mounting/support bolts…..both of mine were MIA…. How the alternator did not fling itself into...
..in my hands on experience with Optima Batteries, I can guarantee that the “current” are not the same quality/longevity they were @ 15 years ago…when they had “lifetime” warranties….
unfortunately Optimas quality has begun to languish over the past few years when JCI purchased the company from the Swedes..it's own owned by Clarios (Chinese)
I have a battery ground disconnect already installed....the battery tender to the right is a 24v (2.5amp) that I was using in the 4 6TL battery set up.... I imagine it will be aok to use with my 2 6TL battery set up..
after much research and pestering the electrical gurus that frequent this forum and even though I have a "upgraded" Niehoff 260 amp alternator, which by all accounts can easily handle a 4 6TL battery configuration, I like the simplicity as well as quite possibly reducing some "strain" on the...
as a side note...I have removed my NATO plug entirely...requiring a slight modification of the above wiring diagram....I tested the "revised" schematic using 2 m/c batteries..worked like a champ..
the blue is the 2 24v leads from the truck, the yellow is the 12v lead from the truck, the purple...
