In the process of replacing shocks, I wire brushed and painted the mounts so I’m on an extended break until the paint dries.
These mismatched shocks have seen better days…
I have heard of Porterfield in the past and would be interested in trying them on my deuce. It seems new sets of shoes are running between $50 and $90 per set so $149 per axle would be a fair price for a good set of shoes. Did they give you a part # ?
I dont have a picture, but I have the primary kit a lot of other members use in this link:
Spin On Filter Kits
It's an adapter that screws into where the standard mounting bolt would hold on the filter can, and the spin on mounts onto that.
This weekend I replaced the 3 spin on fuel filters on my Deuce, the whole process was not too bad and luckily my in-tank pump is working so priming was a breeze.
I havent dug in at this point, i'm slowly acquiring the parts to do a rebuild by purchasing an item or 2 each payday. This week I picked up connecting rod bolts, but they dont all match so I will be returning the ones that don't match.
Here are a few pics of some connecting rod bolts I picked up, they have a few different part #s, not sure which are “better” as they are all 12pt. The heads are slightly different. They were supposed to all match and I’ll be returning so all part #s match.
When I talked to ARP recently it sounded like an initial run of 24 could be done for about $6k.... Then the order size would dictate the price moving forward.
Maybe we need a group buy?? But there probably isn't enough interest to justify the cost.
Does anyone know if ARP or other aftermarket connecting rod bolts or head studs are available? I have searched their site and called, but they didnt have any product numbers in their system.
Thank you
Are there any service providers out there that will rebuild the Ambac PSB6A injection pump? I have a complete seal kit on hand, but would prefer a professional perform the rebuild.
Thank you
I use Opti-Lube XPD as a diesel fuel additive that provides a lot of benefit. It worked great in my VW TDI and seems to be performing well in my Deuce. I just changed my oil for the first time since purchasing my truck with Chevron Delo 15w40, seems ok so far.

My #3 line looks to be leaking up the tube at the hydraulic head. The protective covers arent there and there is rust in all of the recesses. The #3 leaks right in the small recess.
I've had an issue getting the proper #3 fuel line. I attached some pictures of the latest fuel line I ordered. The bends are not in the correct places (at least compared to whats currently on the truck). Am I supposed to do some bending on these or should they be a direct fit?
