    Buyer beware, Austin Mn

Whatever happened to "Unfit For Purpose"? Do you have, Or could you obtain a copy of the conversation?. No way what you experiencing is right. Reminds me of (When) I bought a 22ton 1942 ex U.S. Army trailer a year ago. Describes as complete working and wholly 'original' From a guy in Europe...

    Almost bought a truck today

Well if the truck was that much cheaper as a deal, You would still be quids in after paying for the turbo parts, And end up with you 'perfect truck'. We fitted a turbo to my M45, It took my lad just a evening to do everything from parts we had around the shed. The IS a HUGE difference in power...

Modern Russian Army in the photos.

Thank you for that song, It is very melodious. But, I have a tendency to follow and collect Russian war songs. As they are most relevant and poignant to my past experiences..some...not...so good. Brechnia springs to mind, Kalinka from the original military choir also. I am strongly moved my the...

Hydraulic head seals replaced and now it doesn’t like to run.

You may have the solution in your grasp. That fuel control rod can be problematic. When I Finally fixed all the problems with my M54A2, And The last tiresome thing to complete was that fuel rod. I had 5 attempts at getting it (The 'o' ring) to set set right, and allow proper full range free...

Transfer Case Shifter Hard to put in High

It seems to vary truck to truck. Some of ours shift like silk, Others like the wrecker will not shift for love nor money. And we have everything possible to make the shift work more easily. Actually when it gets nice and warm shifting is possible with double clutching and getting the RPMs just...

    M35a2 Timing

Got it, and thank you yet again for all the time and trouble you are taking to resolve my problem. I did not see the P.D.F.s (too much in pain and tired at the time), Now I KNOW my H.H. RED LINE is incorrect, as it is bang on the mark, and SHOULD be one tooth off to the rear. (And(It does sound...

    M35a2 Timing

Would you affirm this for me please. "So just to reiterate, so long as the 1/2 moon appears when the crankshaft pulley is near the firing position marks , then you recommend the hydraulic head red tooth be one space off to the rear?" This would advance the timing.

    M35a2 Timing

No actually, I DO NOT use EASY start or ether products. I always use a 'teflon spray' which provides soft ignigition WITHOUT detonation, knocks, or bangs.

So just to reiterate, so long as the 1/2 moon appears when the crankshaft pulley is near the firing position marks , then you recommend the hydraulic head red tooth be one space off to the rear?

    M35a2 Timing

No go. Required oil spray to fire it up. It ran at high RPM, (about 1000/2000, But cut out and would not start again without the spray.. Do you think it needs the red toothed 'COG' (as you originally suggested putting back one tooth? This would advance the timing.

    M35a2 Timing

Then pictures you shall have, Thank you for the help, My camera would be junk now and 'knee deep (Nay deeper!) in grease and muck if I had tried to film progress, Working single handed is very difficult for me, , Turn prop, up, check, turn prop, up, ( two downs obviously!, Careful with the...

    M35a2 Timing

Thank for the clarity and the detail. Here's what I actually did, H.B. = OK PUMP marks = OK H.H. half moon plate = Equal. (My Mistake?) positioned The H.H. Red line ON THE POINTER. So if I now rotate the engine to the H.B. and Pump Lines Would that then place the HH red line back a tooth to...

    M35a2 Timing

Ok , I do appreciate your taking the time to clarify things. I have had the H.B. spot on (LDT 4641A. Pump Pointer Spot on. H.H. Red mark Is on the mark. So, I have retarded? It will not start at the moment. It NEEDS to go BACK a tooth? Confirm and I will change the setting tomorrow. It ought...
