Build one of these. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/deuce-power-bleeder-r4x4-style.3229/
Unless you coat the threads on your bleed screw, the vacuum will always draw air into your suction bleeder. Pump the power bleeder up to about 10 PSI and move from bleed screw to bleed screw.
If I may, I suggest reaching out to evil dr. Pork chop. He has NOS kits that have that info in them. I just bought one. The reason I suggest this is because the instructions included look to have been copied from a photocopy that was photocopied from a photocopy that was photocopied from a...
There is an approved nylon line to use for the return line. Metal lines that you can flare and bend would likely crack without some type of robust support system. The lines on there likely have been there 40 years, that's pretty good in my opinion.
When I pulled the engine out of my M108, I ran a chain between 2 slash pines and hung a chain hoist from there. The gap between the trees narrowed about 2 feet before the engine started to rise.

Did you take the shutoff lever off of the shaft? I questioned that on my 5 ton when I put it together because it wouldn't idle. Apparently I did get it right, mine ended up being something sticky on the governor housing. After a few heat cycles, it's working just fine. Yours is a little...
94-33916 is correct for that weight of truck in Navy reg numbers. Oddly, they assigned it a CUCV NSN. SInce 86 was the last big production year with a small number of 87 trucks produced, yes it's a civy truck. The V in the VIN number denotes this. None the less, a super cool truck.
Make sure to have a functioning spare and that the tire davit has what you need to drop the spare. Tools to change spare tire and a glad hand with coupler and air hose. AAA likely will have little interest in helping with a flat.
