Well it’s the winch harness. So it plugs in under the dashboard I believe with the white connector blocks, those are in good shape. But these black blocks would terminate somewhere under the fuse panel, where? I don’t know yet.

Hey all,
I’m installing my winch, here is a couple wiring blocks I need to repin due to corrosion. Just touch a couple of these and they break off. I’m not familiar with this style pins/block. The connector says Burns? Anybody order pins for these? Have any more intell?
Excellent information, thanks for posting it up. Looks like a bit of brinelling on one of the cross pins that will for sure make some noise and cause issue. Anyways that’s what it looks like in picture #2. Can you confirm?
Excellent! Not too bad to service. The seats in mine seemed fine so I didn’t look into new parts for that. The O-Rings I happened to have so I swapped them. I was pretty apprehensive about taking the unit apart at first but found there wasn’t anything to worry about. No special tools needed.
I’ve got the very same issue with a vibration, which seems to be on the front end. Not much noise until you unload the driveline at around 35-40. Everything greased, u joints seem ok, haven’t had the driveline balanced yet. But when I first got the truck the front driveshaft was out of phase.
Yes they can be taken apart and serviced. I believe I posted all the pictures of mine. Good chance its an O-ring or seat that needs R2 or is dirty and won't seat. I don't recall if the seats were rubber too? Just be careful removing the case screws, they are steel, the block is aluminum. I...
Part of the issue on my door rods is the rod isn’t quite long enough to support the plastic clip that goes through the hole. That leads to the plastic giving way. I may TIG a small extension on a couple of the problematic rods. Or just bend up new material. It’s lower on my priority list than...
Use your favorite search engine and look for 1/8” door lock rod clip. There are a lot of different styles, I need to order a some myself so I can’t recommend a specific one. They are cheap though…
They are called tinnermans, or tinnerman nuts , available in all sorts of flavors. Type that in with your size and you should have plenty to choose from.
Home Depot in my area carries it too. Short money, I used it in my truck and airplane. It’s also made in my backyard to boot. It holds patches too, so my door is covered with them.
Ronmar thanks for the reply to this, got busy with work and kinda just forgot about it. Yes I’ve been buying new manual resetting C/B’s and replacing as I go. I’ve replaced a few so far.
Finally got around to checking on my Pacbrake solenoid. Thankfully their website has good information on the solenoids they use. Assuming what is on our trucks… is what the website states, the 24v solenoid should ohm out at 60 Ohms. Mine checked out at 38, which is low, but not the dead short...
MrMikey, yes I watched your videos. Excellent, thank you for posting them. I did get the dash harness but it will take some work as the pins are badly corroded. But no worries, I’ll get that done soon. I’m going to look down the passenger frame rail. I was focusing on the driver side.
Ronmar...
Hey all,
I’m working on my winch install. Currently searching for the wiring to plug in the PTO. I can’t seem to find it. I’ve got an M1078A1 and was under the impression the wiring would be right next to where the PTO attaches to the transmission. Any ideas? I’ve searched a bunch and can’t...
I ended up buying a full factory setup for my truck. Just showed up a few days ago. It all looks very straight forward as everything is made for this truck. I’d say 40hrs install time should be about accurate. My biggest concern is the electrical side of things. I have an newer truck than what...
