Blown tire need pneumatic bottle jack suggestion

I could fab some, but probably it’s just better to wait for some more to show up cheap. I’ll probably make at least one. Hehehe

Blown tire need pneumatic bottle jack suggestion

If you’re making them from new steel that’s almost $20 in steel there. If you had useable scrap, different story. Surplus could be great.

    New M1078A1R

Man, pulling a few of the relays on the electric side would be a heck of a deterrent. Most people that own the trucks have a hard enough time with the electrical system. If you then could lock the fuse panel cover, that would be effective x 2! Maybe a couple drilled holes, a couple nut-serts...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

They are useful for sure. I have one, it’s sharp and ready to go. Until then it’s up on the wall in my living room. I run a few saws, if it’s not starting for you check the on/off switch. 🤣

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Nice work, that’s on my short list to accomplish. I’d like a chainsaw in the box. A common issue is a tree down across the road when storms rage.

    Rattle on steady state driving

This is exactly what I was worried about. I was trying to check pinion lash etc. great to know.

What jack stands do you use….. looking cheap….

Grow that mesquite bigger! I’ve got enough I can share. I can stick a couple stamps on the end of some chunks. How big is yer’ mailbox?

What jack stands do you use….. looking cheap….

Find someone local that mills wood. You should be able to get some pine 8” x 8” pretty inexpensive to boot. Great for cribbing, or you can stand on end for a “Jack stand”

    Rattle on steady state driving

Yeah no doubt that will help…..too many projects in works and everything else is getting too expensive!

    Rattle on steady state driving

I seem to have the same issue. 2013 M1078A1 with 14k miles. I can make it happen at 40-50mph if you manage the throttle to lightly load the driveline. My front driveshaft was out of phase when I got the truck. But after that everything feels tight.

    NO Power to 1078A1 LMTV

Well from personal experience…… if’n the ground on the battery bank is in the wrong spot you will end up with that problem of 12v where it should be 24v and maybe no voltage where it should be 12v. I think I wrote a post about it too. I have an M1078A1. I had some of the problems you described...

Resolved—- I just sheared off my cab lift piston mount!

Wow, does the cab have a lot of additional weight over a stock rig?

    Keith's M1078A1 Project Overland

Send a message if you end up in NH, I’d love to check out the rig. I’m in the seacoast area and have a small but capable shop if you need anything it’s available as well.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Sorry for the late reply, no shipping seems very reasonable! I’ve got so many projects on my plate that the free labor was the real draw! Hahaha I’ll get to ordering a set at some point. I need tires too. I’ll get around to it at some point. I’ve got that new light set onboard too.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I’ve never wanted to live in or close to Indiana more than right now at this very moment….

    Oil Pump (Failure) - 3116, 3126, & C7

FYI, the CAT system showed the older P/N gear pump installed on my engine. Very clearly, Pvt Snuffy had swapped for the newer gear rotor pump but it had a mfg date stamp of 2003, the same year as the truck and engine. So that was a bit confusing. Pvt Snuffy had also used silicon AND the O/E CAT...

    Oil Pump (Failure) - 3116, 3126, & C7

Recent price check was $680 plus $1k for the core, two week turnaround to get the $1k back. Alternatively you can buy a new unit for $1800.

How many gallons of 383 to paint a M1078 w/troop seats

Like, John Deere green? I think there is another thread with a blueprint on how to accomplish that. Hahahaha

Hideous M1088! Obviously a John Deer fan

I think you just need to understand that no good decisions were made that day.
