Hey all, anyone have their warmup switch short out and trip the CB77? Just happened to me yesterday and haven’t had a chance to look into it yet. Didn’t know if there were any usual locations for this problem to check. Search function didn’t return anything useful (could be my fault)
Thanks...
Hmmmm, soon after I got my truck my tire lift cylinder locked up. The PO claimed to have just rebuilt the pump. I replaced the cylinder with a commonly available cylinder. I was sure it was corrosion in the cylinder that got it stuck.
I’m now gonna check it again. It’s helping to hold my steel...
If I HAD to take a WAG at it I’d say it’s probably for EMP hardening? Though I hadn’t seen anything that would help the 3126 / C7 computer out. Seems there are some people here that would know about it, if that’s the case at all.
Wow, I thought there would be some sort of magic in that box because of all the cooling fins. Some sort of load balancer…….or something. I don’t see anything special other than capacitors that would dampen voltage spikes.
You need something like Fiberfrax, a ceramic wool blanket. Nothing better for heat, can get wet, not sure about long term effects of exposure to wet/salt/etc. should be pretty resilient.
I'm not to concerned with the pull rating, anything 12K (electric) and up should be useful. The Warn winches seem to be woefully under rated, but maybe that's part of their success..... Undersell and overdeliver. I had a Ramsey PTO 8000lb winch that would easily pull double that, anyways...
Has anyone installed a Warren hydraulic winch on their LMTV? I don't have a winch for my truck yet and I really don't care for electric winches, though it seems to be the way to go sans a real hydraulic system on the truck. I'd love a stock setup but the chances of finding one here in New...
Funny this thread should pop up today. I was eyeballing my tires after a short ride yesterday. Best way to enhance traction on a tire you own already. Have spent a bunch of time researching the pros and cons. Seems like there isn’t much in the way of negatives. Summit used to sell a tire siping...
FYI I did check our trucks at work. They have been updated with Allison Transynd fluid. Motorpool has a 55gal drum of it hiding in the corner of the shop. They wouldn't leave me alone with it.........
I ran across this test conducted on FMTV's for the Army. I searched around to see if someone has posted this before, didn't find it. Forgive me if it has been discussed before. It's nice to see some real numbers and not just speculation of synthetic oils vs what Army likes to run. To save...
I usually find myself in Germany once a year or so, haven’t in the last couple years unfortunately. I’ve always admired the Mogs doing duty on the flight line, and everywhere else. However I’ve never looked around at the Man truck cabs and similar trucks with the intent of using one on a LMTV...
Dang…. Yeah I hadn’t considered just adding a box to the back of the cab. Probably the smarter way to get the job done. Nice looking rig! Just a whole lot more going on there than I’m looking to do! Care to elaborate on the gearshift in the center and other control? Diff lock? Do you have a...
I’d like to explore the possibilities of adding another 16” to the cab. The cut would be behind the rear windows I think. I suppose it would be possible to stretch the windows, but adding 16” there would be a lot of window. The reason is I’d like to add a real set of second row seats. I...
