If it increases, then Id replace the fuel filter first, that way you have to bleed the fuel system and have fresh filters. My Cat dozer did the same thing a few months ago and that took care if it.

if you're using the frame already, where else is there to mount to? Ive seen one lower mount to the front differential/axle, which would have to allow for a lot of movement, and one that went under the axle to a spot farther back on the frame, but that decreased the clearance quite a bit.

before you installed it, you should have tested it on the floor with a battery and jumper cables to make sure it spins AND the bendix gear slides forward and spins also. even a 12vdc battery will do it at a slower speed.
