The AC , VIC 3 and Air Ride seats make this a completely different vehicle. The VIC 3 allows you to have conversations on the phone and with passengers at highway speeds.

Mine was in terrible shape. You can tell it’s a patch, but it looks just fine.
I think It’s a good idea to paint covers to protect them against the sun and wind.
On that note, I had a cargo cover that was worn to threads in parts. I painted up to the threads, then I wet a bedsheet with paint and laid it across the damaged area. Then rolled paint across the edges to make sure it sealed.
It has held up for 5 years and many 100’s of miles.
