If you still have the original insulation, try the 3M spray adhesive for headliners. be generous with the application, and hold/press it in place afterward. Ventilation is a good idea as its quite strong

Painted one of the M101A2’s in preparation for sale. Stripped the peeling CARC, new reflectors etc. Looks brand new again! Now I want to keep it, but a man only needs so many 101’s ... said nobody, ever. But, I’ll keep two. Sold one, now it’s this guys turn.

They work great for calls, even at highway speeds. Caller can understand you fine, just sounds like you are talking to ATC. Not so great for music. Sounds like AM radio. I just put on earbuds under the headphones for music.
