It appears I am reaching the weight limit as there is currently about 1 inch sag from front to rear but it handles good and with the Duramax, the acceleration is still quite ridiculous.
Sincere thanks for the compliments. I haven't done much work on the truck lately. Just a brush guard and a lightbar up front that I plan to use for support of a roof rack. I already posted these pics on the what have you done to your hmwv lately thread but here they are again. Chucky, I would...
*Update* this truck is back in service! Little bit of grinding, welding, trip to the weld supply store, some more grinding and welding. Crack went all the way through but by working together, one man heating and peening while other man welds, it was a successful repair.
Appreciate all the input. I have cut a hole in the back side of the bumper and I will make some braces that will attach to the pintle hook assembly from the rear as the original configuration did. This should be sufficient for what I will use the hook for. Once I have the braces made, if there...

Looking at all that, it looks to me that other than a...

Thanks Coug, I recall seeing the plate but didn't realize it was because the back was cut completely out. I will just do the same. Appreciate the help. Any idea how thick that plate is?
I made a bumper from 2" x 8" rectangle tube similar to an airlift bumper. I was intending to use the original pintle hook from the truck but I am wonderimg if there is a different hook utilized on the airlift bumper with a longer stem to compensate for the 2" thick bumper. I think it would only...
Old thread, I know. But I ran i to the same problem and had a time finding the right plug. Here is a link to what I believe is the correct part for anyone that might be looking in the future...
Looking through your pictures again, I wonder if it might be possible to alter the underside of the panels so that they are able to raise vertically enough that the ends fit tighter against the fender wells. It is hard to tell without being there. The shot that shows the whole panel from the...
