Welcome aboard Travis.
I have an M37 230 crankshaft that is cut .010" / .010" I measured one of the rod journals which gave the following reading. 2.052" This is a crankshaft that has some mileage on it. I want to say that your crank is at standard. The factory had tighter bearing clearances...

There are lots of routes to go in your quest for more mileage and reliability, mostly depending on your wallet and how deep you want to get into it.
Baseline your engine to see where it is at. Compression test, cylinder leak back, oil pressure when hot, lots of things to consider...
Someone I am sure has come across this malady. I have a 1963 M37 with a fresh stock 230 cubic inch flat head strait 6 that I have just installed into the engine bay. The correct transmission for this vehicle has been acquired. As I try to install the transmission, the stick shift will contact...
These came on a T245A flat head 230 that I purchased a while back.
Does anyone have any information on these parts? I called John from MWM, he said that they were not used on the military engine and may be for a Civi 230.
Hope this helps.
Just a note on the Pertronix. My 161A unit came with the Hall effect sensor rivets slightly loose. Called Pertronix, the tech said to peen the rivets to tighten the sensor to the base plate. This is on a 230 flat head 6 cylinder M37 vehicle.
If needed, I also have the testing...
Be careful with the NOS fuel pump kits. These have components that are not compatible with todays blended fuels. You will have a reoccurring issue in a couple of seasons. I sent my fuel pump out to get rebuilt with diaphragms/components that will resist degradation from blended fuels. Then and...
Was there two different tranny floor boards for the M37? I know that there was a 420 model 4 speed with no synchros on gears 3-4 1950-1955. A 420 transmission with synchros in gears 3-4 circa 1955-1964. The 420 transmission with the synchros is slightly longer.
Can anyone provide some pics of the curved metal pieces that run from the front windshield to the rear bar over the doors on the M37? I need both left and right pieces for my canvas top to fit/attached properly. These are available online (used). I have a hard time coughing up $200 with shipping...
Guys,
I purchased a 1963 M37 8 weeks back. Once I got the engine running, I was concerned about the temp gauge. The SW gauge starts out reading 140*F when cold, and goes up to about 185*F when running. This is with ambient temps in the 80's. Gauge should read below 100*F when cold.
