As promised a while ago, I broke down my defunct unit for some pics.
The unit as removed from the cab, 4 bolts hold it in at the top, 4 bolts at the bottom:
Remove the two nuts and the air line input to remove the upper mount from the shock/bag assembly:
Removal reveals the airbag (or more...
More solid progress over the past week/weekend:
Spring leaf removal has been completed and the ride is WAY better than it was with the full pack. The steps in pictures-
Remove all the nuts from the spring studs sticking through the plate at the top of the rubber tower, and remove the bracket...
Did anyone notice this at Coldmaster:

$680 on sale now....
It might be a challenge to fit the vent/blower unit (32" wide x 14" deep x 6" high), but sounds like it's at least the...
It was a good week/weekend for the truck. Picked up the passenger seat from the Subaru and then a used cab airbag from Martin at FMTV Sales. Thurs morning, I ran up to Olympia to pick up a set of frame doublers from Quade at Overland Adventure Trucks to use as a base for my subframe. They...
Thanks for those links and the commentary. Makes a lot of sense, particularly about the wheel halves... Where were you when I swapped the tires in September??!?!?! Looks like I have a bit of work to do this weekend.
Your static balancer is great and looks like it's for the earlier MV's, you...
Where/how do you get these dynamically balanced? I've called all around the Portland, OR area and all the industrial tire places are telling me they can't spin something of this magnitude. Any advice? I've tried a local Firestone, the commercial side of Les Schwab, GCR, and Superior. I...
The seat back profile feels good to my spine and it has decent side bolsters too. It doesn't lock me in like a racing bucket seat would but it's both soft enough and firm enough to be comfortable. Being OEM-issue, I am assuming the seating surfaces will hold up to the usage it's going to see...
I've wanted to swap seats out because even though mine were in nice looking shape, they were like riding on lumber. I had been casually keeping an eye on Craigslist and surfing this sub-forum for solutions others have used. This past week, I came across a pair of seats from a <9,000 mile 2018...
I did the same thing and had a pair made locally for $139. Dropped them off, grabbed lunch, they were there when I came back:
I see you're in WA state. If you're near Portland, they are near PDX:

Thanks B-Dog. I may have sourced a set locally but will drop a line if that falls through.
I won't have an air gap between the box and chassis, but there will be sufficient space to allow full articulation of the suspension and avoid the tires scrubbing the bottom of the box. The tires are...
It's the OEM one with a new set of fans and a simple, flat shroud. I had new lines made up and fabbed up the mount. It presently sets on posts on the crossmember but I may revise that once I have the subframe constructed. I tried to keep it as simple as possible.
With a 1088, one frame doubler is inside the main rail and one is on the outside. The stacked rails seen on the other variants are not found on the 1088. This leaves the tops of the rear tires about ~1" (max) below the top of the main chassis frame rail, so in my case, I actually want to build...
To keep this thread on topic, I posted some answers on my build thread:

Questions were posed in another thread regarding the space benefit of relocating the spare and intake. I took out the tape measure and took some rough guess-timates which should get you close if you're thinking you want to do this.
Total space occupied by the equipment is about 24". I didn't...
They were $239 each plus freight on Thurs, according to Jeff, roughly $500 for the pair of bags without the shocks.
He is checking on the availability of the shocks for me and I will follow up with info when I get data.
They are still listed on the Ohio Hydraulic site for $112 though...
Thanks for the suggestions.
In an effort to determine if it was starter side or wiring side, I jumped the solenoid input and the starter spun the motor. Just for laughs, I tried the dash starter button and it worked. Truck starts again as normal. I feel like I still need to confirm that it's...
I am about to start tearing through the troubleshooting routines but if anyone has any quick check recommendations, here's the situation:
I went to work on it this afternoon and it started fine. Ran it about 8 min, just to move it slightly and air up. Raised the cab.
Finished working on what...
So bringing this thread full circle then, this pic:
...is the actually the Firestone airbag already replaced over the shock. The two are separately manufactured, and based on the other pics such as this one:
..they are "easily" swappable individually. It's starting to make sense now...
When I pull mine apart, will take some pics and post them here. I am reluctant to do so in the short term though as Jeff said there is a long lead time (6w) for these and I don't want to be out of commission that long.
If someone else has a better pictoral demonstration of this, I'd be happy...
Also...
He looked up the invoice for FloridaAKM's order (or at least another order in the April/May timeframe which went to Gainesville), and it showed the 997900 being the part number ordered. Would the PP unit be Firestone branded for some reason?
...and according to Tenmogger from page 1...
