Welcome to Steel Soldiers! It sounds like you're off to a great start. As ToddJK mentioned, we are a photo-hungry group. I look forward to reading about your progress.

    Help me pick display weapon.

Tough choice. I would pick the Barrett.

    Bed storage box

I totally agree with removing the box. Who would want something leaky on a Deuce? 😂 I found these Sterelite brand storage totes that fit pretty nicely under the troop seats and between the braces. I used some bungee cords to stop them from sliding. They are working well so far. I've had them...

    CARC Sub over faded CARC

Thanks, Tim! I downloaded the TM. Looks clear as mud 😂. I will study up, and probably give er a go one day soon. Too many projects, never enough time...

    CARC Sub over faded CARC

Nice work! I love that camo pattern. My Deuce is faded OD green. I've thought about changing it to camo, but I have no idea of how to create a pattern. I've seen some really bad "shade tree" camo jobs and I don't want that on my truck. Glad to hear another good review of Rapco.

    Frank8003 - RIP

I'm sorry to hear of Frank's passing. Thank you, @simp5782 for sharing the info. I noticed the "Joke of the day" has been sort of quiet for some time. I didn't get to meet Frank, but I could tell from his posts that he was a good soul. When he mentioned his frog buddy, Melvin, he always seemed...

    LDT-465-D alternator mount bolts

I have a spare stock alternator core from when I swapped mine to a Delco clone. I would give it to you but shipping cost would be insane.

    My deuce caught on fire

On the subject of fire extinguishers, it might have already been mentioned, but periodically you should take your extinguisher out, turn it upside down, and shake it really well. The powder inside will settle and clump up. I shake mine monthly on the first. Probably overkill, but it's easy to...

    1958 Machine shop Deuce

I've never seen one. I was aware that they exist. That one looks to be in excellent shape. Are all of the tools functional? Do you use it as a shop? Thanks for sharing!

    My deuce caught on fire

Glad you were able to get the fire put out. Mine was dripping before I removed it. I can tolerate a small oil leak, but leaking fuel is no good. Living in the south, I doubt it will ever get cold enough to need the flame heater anyway. My truck starts the same at 30 degrees as it does at 80...

    Locking T Handles?

I wasn't aware of the "remote storage" part either. I just haven't used it because they are too pushy with the "install now", and I am stubborn and a bit rebellious 😁.

    Test picture.

I reported it and PM'd patracy.

    Deuce fuse box location?

I thought it was behind the distributor 😁. ABurgos, if you scroll up on this page, your question was already answered.

A couple of questions for those who have done an engine swap

Thanks, guys that puts things into perspective. As I said, I'm in no hurry to replace my multi as long as it's running strong (or is rebuildable). If that day comes I want to make an informed decision. From what I gather, an increase in power even a substantial increase should work fine as long...

A couple of questions for those who have done an engine swap

I've been reading several posts, old and new, on the subject of engine swaps for our Deuces. I'm curious about long-term effects of increased horsepower and torque on the original drivetrain. How are your trucks holding up? Are the original brakes adequate to stop one of these at higher speeds...

    Fellow A3 owner

Welcome to Steel Soldiers! That is a fine looking truck. I really like the look of the larger tires.

    New to me ERDLator deuce

That is a cool truck! She just needs some love. Congratulations!

    M35a2 Deuce NO START

I love a story with a happy ending. I've been following your thread, thanks for sharing your experience. This is an excellent reason to have more than one Deuce (or an excuse for anyone who needs one).
