I'm looking for downloadable pdf. copies of:
FM 10-67-1 Concepts and Equipment of Petroleum Operations
and
FM 10-67-2 Petroleum Lab Testing
I think these two manuals may have information useful to the alternative fuel user.
I know that Scribd has them ... but I am uncomfortable with all...
I have been using waste oil of various types for 5,000 miles ... I haven't "switched to or from" anything.
I had noticed a loss of power and the smoke with the most recent batch ... which may have been made up of mostly VERY old motor oil.
I filtered it using the same process I have always...
YIKES!!!
Either YOU are having a tough paint week or its a case of REAL bad karma ... or "truckma" in this case!
You might want to get your bio-rhythms re-aligned.
Paint is ALWAYS finicky about prep ... and coats.
ALWAYS scrape/sand, clean and de-grease, dry, prime (maybe ...
Well ... to be honest ... the folk's perceptions about diesel powered vehicles were pretty correct. Until the advent of electronic fuel injection ... diesel engines DID burn fuel in a comparatively haphazard manner. Computer controlled fuel systems have done a LOT to quiet engines down...
I know that a given amount of a "fuel" will yield an (x) amount of BTU's or calories in an engine.
But, I made an observation with my truck recently that set me thinking and searching the threads about this:
My last tankful of Waste Motor Oil & Diesel was about 90% filtered WMO mixed with 10%...
"The deuce is already designed to burn multiple fuel viscosities ..."
True!!!
But I wonder if there is a "BEST" viscosity for waste oil blends that will yield the best possible mileage and performance?
Apart from "rule of thumb" numbers ...
Has anybody seen a "BEST" viscosity spec for...
I gotta say ... Paul is pretty close for a system that can do a safe, clean, fast job.
I got $250 in a pump, $100 in the H/P pickup hose, about $$150 on filters and their bases, and probably another $100 in intake line, plumbing bits and gauges.
I ain't counting the motor ... I got a fresh...
Other seals you may want to consider if you are re-sealing the entire windshield assembly.
I just disassembled, cleaned, primed, painted, and resealed the WHOLE enchilada on my truck.
ALL of it. It was a LOT of work.
Anyoldways … here’s some stuff I found helpful.
The roll...
Every question deserves an answer.
So: How do you rebuilt or service the air powered wiper motor found in the M35A2?
The only tools required are whatever you need to remove the motors from the truck PLUS a Phillips screwdriver, an ice pick (or similar) and a pair of pliers. I’m not...
Unless you got a set ... you'd probably want to have line wrenches to help out with the fittings.
Having a double flaring set and learning to use it is pretty handy too.
Also some (OK ... a LOT) liquid wrench, rustbust, CRC, kerosene & ATF or other penetratin' oil would be good to keep around...
Double Whew!!!
AS a sixty year old college student on a VERY tight budget ... I was very thankful when this Behr Paint thing came up. My 1968 AMG is pretty near 100% rust free ... and deserves a FAR better a paint job then I can give it right now. I was hoping that the cheaper Behr paint...
BTW ... everydangtime I drive my Deuce ... I hear this tune playing in my head:
did you guys ever consider a "official" MV or GA Rallye theme song?
American GI's have carried this tune around for quite a while ... and altered the lyrics a couple of two or three times ... you might want to do...
Grits and maple syrup!!!!
We were so poor when I was growing up ... they told us Grits with sugar or maple syrup was icecream.
And CORN BREAD?!?!? Sweet or straight ... don't make no never mind to me .... its ALL good.
When the US and A Army sent me to Fort Jackson back in 19 and 70 ... I...
On the other hand,
... and I know that I don't have anywhere near the miles that wreckerman has...
but I've put over 5,000 miles on my Deuce since February.
I changed the fuel filters on the truck when I bought it ... and have been running on *MAYBE* a 85 to 15 mix of WMO (ATF, 90wt gear...
