Wow ... your memory is a LOT better than mine ... MikeW started crossing over the numbers and DEFINITELY didn't say it was a AMC Hornet!
He said it was a Javelin.

There is this post form HanksDeuce on your other Brake engineering thread:
"I found the following thread from Pirate 4x4. Uses 1994 Ford F-700 Bus rotors, rear calipers from a 2001 Ford F-550, and a master cylinder from a 1985 Chevy K30. On the last page of the thread a vendor is...
AS I recall, I cut off 40 inches. I know I put the measurement in the threads on my build.
I didn't use the torch to shorten the frame. I used a 4" Makita grinder and cut off discs to do that job. It did a real clean job. I guess you could even use a cut-off saw.
The torch is mostly used...
A big ol' hairy PLUS 1
For my use I think a master cyl upgrade would be about all that the Deuce needs. I don't haul or tow anything real heavy with the Duck ... the brakes seems to up to the job I need done ...
But I sure would like the security of a second circuit!!!!
A SAFE RELIABLE...
There's about 2 BASIC ways of doing it.
1. Buy the front springs and perches from a Deuce, mount the rear axle where you want it, and shorten the existing bed to fit. This does present some problems in getting a tarp to fit, if desired.
2. Buy an M 105 trailer (I got a pretty good one from...
As long as it don't slide off when I hit the brakes hard it'll do just FINE for me and the Mother Duck!!!
Even this old college student can afford a $50 paint job!!!
Minimal prep ... just a stiff bristle brush and etc ... dang! I'll even be happy putting on FOUR coats!!!
I got a...
... and make sure you share each and every one of them!
It don't take much to make a BIG mess ... and a BIG oil spill will just WRECK YER WHOLE DAY!
That being said ... I seem to remember Gimpy telling folks: ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS keep yer eye on yer fill line.
"Fall Out" is not just a fast...
+1
Good words of advice!
Also ... since I pick up oil in other peoples shops/yards ... I always put a pan under hoses when I have to disconnect or move them ... plugs and caps on EVERYTHING.
I'm also careful to drain my hoses and store them hanging into a 5 gallon bucket.
No matter how...
Thank you very much for this kind offer! Whatever I install will be permanent installation.
I think having a reliable source and fused 24VDC, 12VDC and 110VAC outlets in the cab and a secure spot in the bed will be a good idea considering the uses I have planned for this truck.
From...
FWIW ... overnights at RV campgrounds in the area I'm staying (Marietta) range from $18 to $30 PER NIGHT!
A truck stop is FAR cheaper ... all I need is a place to sleep, a place to pee if/when I wake up at night (I'm over 60), and a cup of coffee in the AM. :D
A radio, a fan and a light is...
BTW ... this sort of this is EXACTLY what I built the Duck for. I just did a weekend of debauchery at a "biker" weekend in North Carolina ...
... and, in the future, I'm hoping to visit the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio and the D Day Museum in New Orleans using my Bobbed Deuce as a base...
Anybody got experience with the various 24 VDC to 12 VDC & 24 VDC to 110 AC converters/inverters that are on the market?
Are there better/worse ones to buy out there?
My summer session has classes that I can only attend at a campus that is 1 1/2 hour one way from my home ... and since the...
Any idea who is selling hubs these days? ... I have a lathe and etc.
Any idea who is selling de-splined hubs ready to go these days?
I got to replace the boots and etc on the fronts ... might as well do it all at the same time.

OK ...
It looks like I gotta recalibrate the Mk. I computer to 1800 - 200 RPM max., normal op. And leave a little on top for "war emergency" RPM.
I think I'm still going to try the electric fan ... there really might be a little gain in that ... and not a lot of money
And ... since I...
Because I am not familiar with these motors ... I am taking tiny baby steps ... and going as I'm learning .... and learning as I'm going.
I did a lot of reading on this site ... when I got to the stuff about the LDS's "droop screw" I stopped EVERYTHING ... because I don't think my LDT has one...
Yeah ... +1 on all the hi-performance stuff ... I never expected any of that ...
But I read all them guys getting 10 to 12 ... and wonder if I could get just a bit closer to 9 or 10 mpg ... without causing a problem or costing a bunch.
An increase of 100 miles per tankful would be pretty OK...
I got new filters and the TP is good.
I should have mentioned that I'm bobbed and singled out also. Sorry.
I guess rolling a bit slower wouldn't be no problem ... it certainly don't cost nothing.
I'll give it a try.
Others?

I've done the search and found a couple threads (thanks Santa) for better MPG for LDS engines ... but nothing for LDT Deuces.
I just made a run from Noga to Rockingham SC and back ... 678 miles. The Mother Duck ran PERFECT all the way up and back ... I kept her at 53 to 54 MPH . I don't...
Me and the Duck went up to the Iron Horse Magazine bike run up in SC to see my son. My son and his buddies have been into HD motorcycles for years.
The Duck was very well received by the crowd ... bikers LOVE old MV's!!! During the event our group went over to watch the drag races or some...
