I've probably shown you this before.
I took a standard folding dog ramp (my neighbors actually gave it to me after their dog wouldn't use it) and I added a piece of angle iron to the top edge. Then on the truck I bolted a strip of 1' flat stock shimmed out 1/4" with standoffs. The angle iron...
That's what I'm trying to determine. I know the upgraded one was 150psi and that the OEM was lower, but I don't recall how much. I didn't mention the OEM size on the video I made about changing them out. And I'm not finding the OEM info on other videos so far.
Not sure the value difference...
I'm pretty sure Sean from FB added a remote start to Able. I know I've seen the video of someone who did (and I think it was Sean).
It was just one of those kit's off Amazon. Nothing that may adapt to your application, but it has been done.
By my calculations, if you had spent that 20 minutes each day driving south you'd have resolved the issue of starting in the cold in approximately 65 days.
;)
So a few years back I swapped out the OEM transducer for a 150psi version that fills the tires to 75psi via the CTIS system.
My CTIS controller went tits up/brick and I now have an Arduino replacement from Plasa ready to install. I'm thinking that to get it to work correctly, I'll need to...
On A0 trucks it's not uncommon to have 2x 24v leads at the inboard left. If I recall, one goes to the starter and the other to the polarity protection box. They connect to the same terminal, and are often depicted as one cable in a lot of the diagrams. My A1R only has the one 24v cable in...
Getting there !
fiy, those heavy steel strips are there to reinforce for a lot of weight. Depending on what you plan to install in those locations, you can likely delete them. They aren't really structural beyond being there to support something heavy (like tool boxes, etc). Certainly won't...
Oh it's a two man lift for sure.
The A1R had a lot of material removed and the area at the shackles elevated (seemingly to make it easier to access the shackles but from my experience the shackles are easier to put on the A0 version). By opening up the shackle area and leaving the back open...
Hmmmmmmmmmm
The bumpers on these things are pretty cheesy. Its likely that the bumpers/bumperettes are intended to bend and take any damage as opposed to telegraphing it to the frame. We've all seen countless bent bumpers on these trucks (especially on the gimpy weak A1R bumpers that have had...
I think that's because the cab would crush the privates toes if said private were standing on the bumper while raising the cab (and don't think some didn't try)...
;)
And *if* you do mount it on the cab, given the size of your rig you would be required by DOT to add at least one more to the habitat (tail gunner configuration). Maybe automate them with motion activated tracking, etc. Then there is the whole matter of explaining to the cops that the guns...
To each his own.
I'd likely pass due to the leak factor (I've heard they are like a sieve).
I do have some plans for the cab, but non include inducing more water into the equation.
Buy it, flip it, if the price is right.
Or better yet, get a second truck and build a gun truck !!!!
One thing you might look into is the spacing of the frame member studs. I don't know what the centers are on the S250 but if you can avoid having to cut into the frame members you preserve the structural integrity of the box. I downsized my fridge vent/access panel a bit so I wouldn't have to...
