It is kind of sad to see all of that heavy metal machinery sitting unused.
Took my first trip out to fort Riley to look at a truck and (was kind of worried that they might run out of trucks to auction) but seeing all of the trucks parked rusting and being over grown with trees and weeds I think...
Went and looked at a truck at fort Riley has a low battery and would not turn over, was wondering if I wire two car batteries together to make 24V, if they would have enough power to start it.
Went and looked at the truck, main belt was shredded and the alternator pulley was completely shot, but the guy at the GL office said that the Gun ring did come with it.
It comes with a spare so I will probably just change it. Did not know that they were that heavy!
Will have to bring a chain hoist, Is it very hard to remove and reinstall the CTIS system on the tire?
Found this truck on GL but it has a flat tire but other than that it is a nice truck, How hard is it to change a tire on one of these (and what size impact socket would you need?), Or if the tire just has a slow leak will the CTIS keep it aired up?
Thanks
This is probably a stupid question with an obvious answer , but why would you have to take the drive shafts off?
I live pretty close and would not have to tow very far if it makes any difference.
Thanks
was looking on GL and found an M925A2, was wondering if it had a central tire inflation system on it.
I attached a picture of it, is that a machine gun mount on the top ?
Was also wondering what size engine it had.
Thanks
Yeah I guess that the Cons outweigh the chances of success, I guess I'll Just have to hire a trucker with a flatbed to haul it.
But to get it on the trailer, If I pressurize the brake system will that release the spring brake?
I am looking at getting an M923 truck from Fort Reiley Ks, but I don't have an air brake equipped truck to pull one with, so I was wondering if I could just rig up my air compressor to feed air into the emergency air glad-hand in the front and wire in a solenoid valve to feed air from the air...
