Hi All,
I'm happy to announce that I've got another round of boxes complete and ready for sale!
It's been about 3 years since I made the last run and unfortunately my costs have gone up. That means I need to charge $120 + $15 for USPS flat rate shipping. However I can fit several adapters into...
Sounds like the injection pump is worn out. When it warms up it leaks internally and won't build the proper pressure to pop off the injectors.
Try shooting it with cold water from a hose for a few minutes after it warms up and see if you get some power back for a short time.

The relay has 4 wires:
1. Ground (57T)
2. Ignition switched 24v to the relay coil (29T)
3. Switched 12v out to the TCM (290C 291C)
4. 12v in from the battery (290B 291B)
If you disconnect wire #3 and the TCM light DOES NOT go out then you have a wiring problem in the truck somewhere. Someone...
Here's my setup:

I replace the Chinese pressure switch every two or three years and always carry a spare. I can also bypass it in an emergency. Otherwise it's been a rock solid system and saved me a couple of times when I cut up my tires on...
A note on the new style sender:
The float is in the tube and there is a small hole at the bottom to slowly let the fuel in and out of the tube. That way when you accelerate or brake the level doesn't jump around.
On my truck with the original float ball on the arm the gauge oscillates +/- a...
Sounds to me like the TCM power relay in the battery compartment is stuck closed or bypassed.
When I shut my truck off the warning light illuminates for about 1 to 2 seconds, I presume because the engine speed or some pressure sensor suddenly reads 0. Once the capacitors drain in the TCM the...
On the "New Posts" screen there is no longer a column indicating what forum the post belongs to. That was very useful to me to quickly determine what type of vehicle a given thread was about.

Yes you would have to insulate the shell of the fake Duke antenna from the rest of the truck body and connect the center wire of the coax to it.
The receiver only needs the antenna feed connected to the center pin of the BNC or whatever connector it has to function.
If you use a piece of coax...
I assume by am/fm you mean broadcast radio. For receiving just about anything metal will do.
PVC or other plastics won't block the signal and you can put whatever you want inside. If you make the case out of metal it can be the antenna and you don't need to put anything in side it. Just attach...
Toby: Not to worry. I was referring to people with 1 post.
If you have a device that has a headphone jack (Cellphone, Ipad, MP3 Player, etc) my adapter allows you to connect it to the VIC 1 or 3 system and talk and listen to it through the VIC headset. It's as simple as that.
I'm not sure what...
Unfortunately demand has dropped off lately. I need to make a batch of 20 to make it worthwhile and I get maybe one inquiry every other or every third month. Half of those are from people with one post who never show up again.
If 20 people commit to buy I'm happy to do another run.

Unfortunately demand for these has dropped off. I get maybe one person every other or every third month asking. I need to do 20 at a time to make it worthwhile.

PS here is the CVC that covers headphones in California. The letter of the law says no-go but I'd argue the hearing protection...
Hi All,
I'd like to announce the kickoff of a new forum dedicated to discussion of military radios.
We have a great community and source of information on military vehicles here at SS and my goal is to recreate that for the military radio collecting hobby.
Please come join us at...
Hey, all right!
How does it compare to VIC-3?
My understanding is it is all IP based and in addition to the intercom stations you can have PC's or other purpose built terminals with screens attached as well and it will route all the network traffic for you.

Shifting the 218 is different than shifting the 242.
For the 218 the above is correct.
The 242 can be shifted between H and HL on the move at any time.
I have found with my 242 that for shifting from H to LL to be guaranteed successful the tuck must be rolling 2-5 mph with the trans in...
I got my hands on a cable that has the 6 pin connector for the radio port on the VIC 3 on one end and a U329 on the other. It's meant so you cable the front panel audio port on the radio right to the VIC 3. I've only ever seen one.
My friend is using it to connect a Tadiran VHF radio that has...
