Fill drilled holes in m1009 roof

The applicator guns for those epoxy tubes can be had from the auction site for like $15. They must run the factory in China an extra shift without telling anyone and produce unmarked parts because I couldn't tell the difference from a real one except the no name molded into the side. Mixing...

Looking for a cheap radio to talk to RT524 from another vehcle or on foot.

My Yaesu VX8 communicates fine with all of the new family gear but it's not cheap. Set the squelch knob to "Old" on the 524 and you are in business. The received audio volume on the 524 may be a bit low but I haven't noticed it. If you have a PRC 25 or 77 then you have to turn the squelch off...

    Different Kevlar X-Door question

I bet someone will trade you for a set of doors that fit and then you won't scrap a good set of M1151 doors...

    ball joint removal

I've never used a tool to remove a ball joint and I've replaced a couple of complete truck's worth. I start by removing the nut and reinstalling it upside down loosely - I make sure there's a nice gap between the nut and the geared hub flange and the stud isn't sticking out the end of the nut...

HMMWV tires, runflat required or not

If you air them down without bead locks you run the risk of breaking the bead. Runflats have saved my ass a couple of times, including in Death Valley. Augi.

    M1123 Driving

Yeah with the 4-speed I run 70 for 400 or 500 miles in a stretch. I can put 1500 miles on it over a week long trip. When I had the 3-speed in the fan would kick on every 5 minutes above 60 so I tried to keep it to 55. I never sprinted it above 65 with that trans. Augi

New VIC-1 / VIC-3 Intercom to Civvy Radio Adapter Design

Here's an update on this project: I originally prototyped something with a lot of fancy isolation electronics but it was just too expensive. In order to get the cost down I had to go back to basics and remove a bunch of that. The box still works well for it's intended purpose which is to...

How to bypass heater core? Help appreciated!

No need to go all the way back to the block. I just had the same problem with my heater core and while I had it out at the shop I put a short loop between the valve and the steel line directly next to it. Augi

    PRC-104 BB-2590 Battery Protector

I've got an update on this project. Enough people have shown interest that I will be ordering a batch. If anyone else is still interested there are a few left unclaimed. The final cost is $130 + $7 for shipment in a small USPS flat rate box. Here is a rehash of the project and some additional...

    Cobham FFCS/T

The stock picture in your first post of the FFCS/T is accurate. Later when I get a chance I'll snap a pic, but it's mounted in the truck. The same 13 pin connector from my picture of the ITS is above the left side highway cable connector (hidden from view). Here's a datasheet...
