The brakes are regular dual circuit disc brakes. The master cylinder and lines look just like a car or truck and the calipers are off of an 82 AMC or something.
Disconnect the brake line flare nut, 6 bolts to remove the half-shaft, 2 bolts to remove the caliper and you can replace the rotors...
Actually they are your 1982 Chevy ;)
HMMWV's aren't so complicated once you scratch the surface. In fact, most of the maintenance is considerably easier because the thing was designed to be worked on. There is tons of room and everything bolts together for ease of replacement.
Also there are...
You might get $125-$150 each for them.
The tires go for $75-$100 depending on condition and the rims can go from $35-$50. Maybe $10 for the runflat if you bought it separate.
Some of the online tire guys charge way more for the tires, but they are out of line IMO. The above prices are what...
Any autoparts store will have a thermostat for you. This engine is a standard GM diesel. If you need to be specific, ask for a 1994-1996 Hummer H1 NA or an early 90's GMC 2500 HD. They should have various opening temps available. Get a gasket too.
The thermostat is real easy to change. If you...
Is that a compression fitting or a pipe fitting?
I put an air compressor on my HMMWV and I'm using a 150PSI full sweep gauge by Stewart Warner, but I got it off of ebay and it looks much older. It has a full steel case and brass bezel painted OD, with a compression fitting out the back. It...
Are these 150psi full sweep gauges mechanical or electrical?
IE does an air line run into the back of the gauge for it to sense the pressure, or does it plug into the vehicle harness and have a sending unit that also plugs into the vehicle harness somewhere else?

I got plates for both my trailers a couple of days ago from the CA DMV. When GovLiq sends you the SF97 they also send a packet of of other stuff. The DMV wanted the SF97 and the bill of sale. It also shows tax was paid so you don't pay twice.
So from beginning to end here's what happened:
I...
No not really. They are pretty beefy frames and it really didn't fall that far. I was more concerned with messing up the screw in the landing leg, but that seems to be just fine.

The two trailers I got in Barstow both had data plates on the beds. The plates on the tongue were removed. The serial number on each plate matched the numbers painted on the side under "USMC". They both also have 1997 delivery dates.
When I brought them down to the DMV they "verified the...
I won a pair of M101A3's at Barstow and I decided to take the HMMWV down there to pick them both up in one go. To tow them both at once required stacking one on the back of the other.
Flipping them was harder and more time consuming then I expected because of one thing: I assumed after reading...
I picked up a pair of M101A3's last Thursday. Go right to the Yermo Annex. Take I40 to Daggett exit and go north on Dagget-Yermo Road. Bear right onto the annex access road. You won't miss it.
The gate guard barely glanced at us when I held our ID's out the window. Ask for lot 500 and they will...
So I ended up checking box C.
They also decided they didn't like my utility bills, so I sent them a USPS change of address letter, a voter registration card and the registration renewal request for my car from the DMV.
They emailed me back later and asked for a notarized copy of my lease...
This is my first time buying from GL and I have a question about the EUC:
In section II I've checked Box A (stating I plan to keep the items purchased).
Do I also need to check Box C (items will not be sold to non-US citizens)?
Or do I only need to check box C if I check one one of the...
Maybe I missed it on their website, but I can't fine a phone number other than corporate hq anywhere.
I would like to call the Barstow site to ask about loadout scheduling. A couple of posters here had recommended doing that.
Thanks,
Augi
I'm looking for someone in the Barstow area who would be willing to loadout an M101 trailer or two (single pick-up date) and store locally for a couple of weeks until I can get down from San Luis Obispo to pick them up.
The auctions end at the end of December, so I presume loadout would be in...
