Got another deuce! M50 saved from the scrapper.

I have a spare M50 tank with the PTO shaft and rear sprocket still on it . It was in a rollover, but you can cut the outer aluminum skin off and remove the insulation and the inner tank is fine, build your own enclosure or leave it be . Looks like someone already found an old metal top for you...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

That sounds like an interesting story, and I have heard a few about Bonners Ferry, sounds like a good place to retire . HMU if you ever get back down this a way ....

    M931A2 bobbed / plow truck / dump

If you are going to make the truck do work and put a dump bed on it, I sure wouldn't bob it, you lose your wheelbase, possibly frame length, and load carrying capacity all in one shot .

    1952 XM211 Repower / Powertrain Swap

I dug around in there a bit and didn't see a place to upload pics of my old truck, here is a pic of the CD sticker that is still up in the back of the cab behind driver . Things are sort of on hold for this truck at the moment as I focus on my M50/M35A2 to make sure it is ready for inspection...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Took the water tank off of my 1963 Studebaker M50 yesterday to replace the rotted wood rails in between the tank and the frame rails, and make doing some upcoming maintenance a bit easier (brakes, T-case replacement etc.) While I was doing that I may have bought a couple other Deuces, one is...

    24-12v conversion diagram any help?

Could you possibly dumb this down to laymens terms / 3rd grade level of understanding as I may need to also do this with my truck, or at least have it as an option, I am NOT an electrician as you may have already gathered . Thanks .

    HT (HalfTrack) Transfer Case

Curious as to what transfer case resides in a HT ?

    1952 XM211 Repower / Powertrain Swap

Indeed, I'm not at all a fan of what is going on with that front axle mounting wise, and since the front leafs already have a shackle at the front, I could remove those ginourmus rear brackets hanging down for the rear shackle/control arm mounts, along with the upper control arm, and just build...

    1952 XM211 Repower / Powertrain Swap

I dug around a bit and could not actually find what I was looking for, I wanted to see a breakdown of the inner workings of that funky Hi-Lo on the back of the Hydromatic and also the T-case, I'm sure the manuals are there, but as most of the time I'm on my phone it can be hard to see and...

    1952 XM211 Repower / Powertrain Swap

T-case is staying where its at, as it has the two rear outputs needed for the M211 way of powering the rear drivers .

    1952 XM211 Repower / Powertrain Swap

Hmmmmm, I have a bunch of questions about this, so here goes ... I'm assuming that 12 valve and 6 speed hooked together in their previous life like in a delivery truck ? You must have a divorced F205 as I have never seen one bolted to the back of an Eaton ? Why are you going to all the...

    1952 XM211 Repower / Powertrain Swap

Alright, there we go, just looking at the front diff it seemed doable (do-able) ? But what I am going to do first since it needs to be done anyway is transplant the enine/trans combo and hook that to the stock T-case set-up and see how it feels runs and drives like that, then I'll go from...

So why can't I just flip the front center section upside down to match the Rockwell T-case input ?

Huh, it was my understanding that these are Eaton 110s, I know GM and Eaton were tied up at some point, but yes I understand the difference between the Rockwells and these, was just hoping that these were gear oil lubed, vastly superior system to the grease IMO, do you know the gear ratio ?

    1952 XM211 Repower / Powertrain Swap

Thanks for the input Plowboy, I'm not sure how the radiator is supposed to come out as a unit with the engine, but either way it will come out, I will have someone ride around and make a vid for you before it comes apart, if this truck had a manual trans and a Hi Lo T-case I would not go to all...
