PTO winches are cool if you have four legs and three hands to make all that work. Lot to be said for progress when you can tap a button on a key fob to pull cable.
Of course it leaves more shit to break. I used to have a hydro winch on my TJ. Plenty of pull power and cool factor. It still...
I had a real winch in my old rock crawler. A Warn M8000. That was 15 years ago. Since I sold that truck every one myself or my friends bought were Smittybilt.
Sure you know it's 100% Chinese. But they all have worked well and done some tough work. Sure, we aren't doing competition rock...
Talk about a polished turd...
I don't know why someone would chase after that. So they had a half ton with a 208. Must have upgraded the transmission.
Seriously you could swap a 205 in at that point. Already has 32 splines 🤣
I wonder if it's easier/cheaper to just put a 241 in?
Wow, most mods done by previous owners suck and are hacked. This is the nicest belt upgrade I have seen. Aside from having a very expensive alternator I'd keep it.
Makes my Leece Neville 555JHO look like a toy...
I'm guessing the most restrictive part of the 6.2 is the engine 🤣
Personally I like to turn the screw up so it just starts to puff at WOT. I know I'm getting full fuel at that point. Then advance the pump by one line width. Anything short of a turbo is a waste IMO.
Sure you can port/polish...
My group and myself had always had great luck with the Smittybilt units. Probably similar price points or construction. I doubt you will find a bad cheap winch.
They are all above and beyond the old Mile Marker 8000 from decades ago which absolutely sucked. The $300 winches of today are pretty...
I have a snorkel on my Burb with an 8.1 engine. The intake air temp is always nice and low. But noticeable power gains... probably not.
I also had one on a Jeep XJ. Could notice a slight bump on low throttle tip in but that's it. There was zero seat of the pants improvement.
Now make the...
I think they were the standard K30 replacement. I do have a heavy rear being an M1031 but I don't carry a ton of weight beside that. They work really well. Happy 100% with their quality.
I think with 8 or 9 leafs, if they are still stuff you can remove 1 or 2 without any I'll effect on...
I have a set of Eaton springs. Been in the truck for almost a decade. Still looking good. They ride soft, truck doesn't squat hauling a trailer with another big truck on it, and off-road flex is really good considering what it's on.
I'd get them again in a heartbeat.
The filter is never the limiting factor. Maybe the point of air intake especially on older stuff but modern cars pull air usually between the headlight and radiator.
Porting the heads and intake will have a better outcome. Next step is turbo.
The only hidden power in a 6.2 is whatever...
I doubt it will make any difference. I'm guessing the easiest way of adding anything would be changing to the uppper elbow style like the turbo model has. Then feed that to a real snorkel that has outside air.

Keep your stockers and rebuild them. It's really not a hard job. Hardest part is getting the pulley nut off and even that is easy.
Just take your time, take a lot of photos, and go step by step.
You'll be into a full rebuild on both for under $100 and a Saturday morning.
I thought about the NV4500 for the exact reasons too but couldn't pull the trigger. Everything I read about that trans is the gear ratio gaps do not work well with a low rpm low power engine.
I'm 100% satisfied with the 4L80 so I'm going to keep it.
I think it's an air sealing thing and not the material itself.
My truck takes a good amount of time to warm up but it will boil you out of the cab in the coldest of temps. The grille cover made a huge difference in keeping operating temp while going down the road. As in it actually comes up to...
I have the largest aux cooler ever made with three fans on it. Mounted to the side in front of the saddle tank. I have an M1031 so the box doesn't obstruct it.
My setup runs a thermostat to regulate temps and the factory cooler is no longer connected, complete stand alone system.
It runs dead...
Yeah zero interest rate, money being watered down at a record rate mostly in the last few years, people sitting home with nothing to do collecting a check, and a shortage of everything.
Not a great year for asset acquisition. Don't worry, over spenders will need to be relieved of their mistakes...
