They are worth there weight in gold if you need power.
As is probably nothing but scrap. There is a guy on ebay that has a pallet of them for cheap and they have been listed for quite some time.
I was thinking of the Sidewinder. The factory turbo manifold puts the turbo more in the middle of the cylinder head right?

I doubt the turbo will be happy with the big honking J180 mount alternators. Thats the M1010 setup. Thats the best way to get AC whether 12 or 24v.
This is opinion but I would go 12v and use the 6.5 setup. It works with the turbo. The alternator is a newer style, yiu get a Sanden style...
Everytime I see a white Suburban of that era I think of that movie and the scene where they get shot at.
Clear and Present Danger
Patriot Games
Hunt for Red October
Sum of all Fears
That's my order. The rest are meh, I agree.
Watch your back Jack!
If you dont want to go military could always go presidential or CIA. All white with some flat metal hub caps. Jack Ryan themed.
Don't let the big block get you down. Even at 3.50 a gallon the 8.1 still makes me smile. Parents don't grab their children when a Prius goes by 🤣
I would want to know what both alternators are charging at regardless of what the lights are doing.
Don't let it get you down, these things are really old. They take a lot of miles to work the bugs out. I remember one of my regulators failed right after rebuild. Since then they had 10 years are...
I don't think any such thing exist for a class 3 and below truck. Those tires you speak of are more for offroad then to be a super single.
I bet if you looked at the number of ply's, load rating, tire pressure capability they wouldn't even be close to a pair or E rated duallies.
Literally everything in a modern vehicle is under the hood. Fuses, relays, entire engine harnesses, and ECM. Its all rated to be in there.
First thing I do is add an ignition switched relay out in the bay so that can feed a bus bar. That way as you start adding accessories it is all switched...
I don't think garden hose has an electrical rating. I would also venture to say that if I opened the hood on something with garden hose as a wiring loom I'd probably run away.
Stick with what is called for...electrical loom.
My fuel gauge was the first to go, then the speedo started to bounce a bit. That combined with the lack instrumentation made me go to an all electronic dash.
Once I looked at the price on a new factory speedo 🤔
Flexplate yes, TQ and oil seal no.
You are already 90% there, just remove it. I've used the $120 Harbor Freight junk and it worked fine of your driveway is flat.
My head hurts now... 🤣
Yeah this isn't rocket science. Warm the truck up, move the shifter thingy around a few times, return it back to it's home, pull the stick. If you put a gallon of fluid in and it's not on the stick then she is very low to the point of not functioning at all. Not much more...
Nobody said anything about a transmission sitting on a shelf for 30 years. Try again. And leave my coffee pot out of your rebuttle. It did nothing to offend you.
That is because you think everyone else's expectations are the same as yours. You never think maybe people don't have money to do a full rebuild or maybe they want to tinker and see if they can get something working. Not everything hits the road after being reman'd and has to deliver a million...
I will say going from my 84 Burn with an 8.1 to the M1031 you question why you don't wear hearing protection. The Burb is practically whisper quiet compared to the M1031 and they both are giant bricks...
I had a noticeable difference in power cranking the fuel screw in. Granted I have no idea where it was before I owned it. Who knows what happened in almost 30 years. My M1031 took two 1/8 turns so maybe it was way under fueled to begin with.
Either way I wouldn't go back to what it was. I...
I wouldn't rebuild a transmission until the fluid level and condition are sorted first. You need a pressure gauge to diag a no reverse condition before jumping to conclusions.
Cucvrus is crying because I was willing to give a used TH400 to someone for the cost of shipping because used...
