I keep 24 volt battery tenders on my MV’s. I think it helps the batteries live longer. I had to replace the batteries in my M37 after ten years. No complaints from me.
STOP IT! You have a great engine. It runs on diesel fuel… Very simple. It’s not a hot rod. It’s a truck designed to get you just about anywhere, just not fast. I use some lubpricity additives designed for Diesel engines and used by major trucking companies. These engines should last for a...
Well, I’m back. 3,888 miles, 31 days, 400 gal. Fuel (9.72 mpg average). Not bad for a 41,000 pound truck! We rotated the front tires to the forward left tandem. They where checking a bit so I was told I should rotate them periodically. I had absolutely no trouble with the truck! I don’t care...
I hear some say they don’t like the NHC250. I’m wondering why. In 2019 I was in Utah and had to make a mad dash home to Michigan. I put my foot on the floor, only stoped for food, fuel and a little shut eye. I beat that engine for two and half days at full throttle. If these are bad engines...
I will be there parked with the MVPA convoy. Stop by and see what the convoy looks like. BTW there will be another one in 2023. When you see how much fun it is you may want to start making plans.
Sorry about that. Please change he for she and his for hers. My observations remain. You are infected and have no idea just how sick you’re going to get. o_O
welcome to the ward!
Come on Gunny! You know very well that he is already in too deep. Every cell in his body has been infected with Mthrax. There is no cure! We are all doomed… There’s no point in hiding it. We all find out after there is no way out.
Here is the logic: A nice Jeep costs more than a 5 ton or a deuce. Why you ask… The jeep has a much higher “spousal approval rating”. It fits in the garage, it’s small (cute) and easy to drive. Chics dig ‘em. While this may not make any sense to us, it is the rule. This is one strange hobby...
I don’t have a vehicle with glow plugs, so pardon my ignorance. My question is, if a push button can replace a $100.00 part, why would anyone replace the “automatic” circuit board that causes nothing but trouble? I have to be missing something here… If this is my truck, I hold down the button...
Welcome to the ward. There is no known cure for this affliction. However, this is the best place for you to be. You have obviously done your homework. Your list is right on track. It sounds like you are starting with a solid truck. What ever you don’t know about that truck yet, you will learn...
In the last two weeks I switched out my drivers seat with an air ride seat, installed a 24 volt inverter so I will have 120 VAC while running down the road and repaired some minor stuff in preparation for the upcoming MVPA convoy.
M35A2-AZ, you did an outstanding job replacing that floor. POR15 is a great rust stopper. It does require a top coat. I’m told it can’t hold up to UV light and will turn chalky. I know it isn’t restoration correct but I like using Rino Liner as a top coat on floors. It really holds up. I know a...
This is how you fix a rusty floor. I would prime The new steel with an epoxy primer ( DP90 is the best). I would then use a wire brush to knock off any loose stuff on the remaining areas with surface rust and prime these areas with POR15 or a product called Chassis Saver. Then give it a few...
