It would be cheaper just to buy a cheap oil pressure gauge from the local auto parts place. At idle you should have around 15 lbs or above. Most factory gauges were electrical not mechanical. The mechanical gauge with have a tube that attaches to the spot where the oil pressure sensor was...
No glow plug is swell proof. If abused enough any glow plug will swell. The military started out with 13g plugs but later they were using the wellman 070 plugs for replacement. I am not sure if the old ones are self regulating. The self regulation is the thing that is supposed to keep them from...
This post reminds me of a conversation with my wife that started out with emails. She said the truck not starting as it should and she had to try 3 times to get it to start. I asked why it took three times? She said she did not know. I asked if it stopped cranking and she said no. I asked if the...
Even if we were able to get a fully documented and indexed list of all the pertinent law for all the states five minutes later there would be another "Do I need a CDL to drive a five ton?" thread. Just posting info is not enough. The actual law must be cited so when someone has to challenge it...
I have also heard a lot of misinformation on this issue and do not see any way to make sure the information is correct. I have posted Michigan law on registration an use in the past. I post the whole law and highlight the particular sections. The problem with a layman trying to read the law is...
There is only a relay for Gen 2 to provide a 24 volt trigger when the ignition is on. The other relays next to it are for the starter and the voltage gauge.
AC-40 It is a standard GM relay and I think they use it for a horn relay. The number I just gave is for the starter relay and I think...
I read the security section.
This is the first part.
This is a Department of Defense Computer System.
This computer system, including all related equipment, networks, and network devices (specifically including Internet access) are provided only for authorized U.S. Government use. DoD...
I just downloaded from them a couple of weeks ago. Works great for me. I do not have any special access. Again, if you are trying to download a restricted manual such as a NVG manual it will ask for a password.
The did not use the standard M-Series style alternator. Looks good. The cucvs did have isolated grounds on the alternators so they are not exactly the same as a regular GM alternator. The passenger's side must have the isolated ground while the driver's side can use a regular gm 100 amp...
For those new to the site the manuals for most of these vehicles and other equipment can be found by opening Technical Manuals under the resource tab at the top of the page. This links to the old Steel Soldiers site that has a lot of manuals. Manuals can also be downloaded from the link below...
The old cable from my truck also had a grease fitting at the half way point to force grease out to the ends equally. I would check this if yours is just frozen. I wish they would do that on all brake cables.

Attach to the front battery pos or the rear battery negative to get 12 volts. Use regular chassis ground or the neg terminal on the front battery for negative. Do not use the large terminal strips on the firewall passenger's side for pos as they are 24 volt. The small terminal above the glow...
Shouldn't is the operative word there. As a pilot we learn when the engine starts to cut out you reverse what you just did first since this is the most likely cause of the engine cutting out. Same principal. If you loosen the fly wheel just a little and the engine turns you will know there is...
They thing you changed was flex plate to flywheel. Was the flywheel for the 6.2? I would say your flywheel is wrong or damaged in some way that is causing it to contact the block. You say you tried to turn it over with only the flywheel? Was that with the bell housing on? If it did not turn with...
There is a large thread on G503.com about building replicas out of metal. It includes dimensions. Read through that thread and you should have all the info you need to make one that will be extremely accurate. Right now I use a resin one that I bought off ebay.
Be careful. There is a 24 volt tap in the fuse panel. Some have connected to it and fried what they were attempting to run. Some released the magic smoke from the radio components. Before you connect the wire to the fuse panel check the voltage to make sure.
