It sounds like you are going about the choice the right way!
My first thought... 4.56, keep the TH400 and get the OD.
4.10 might be the way to go, but 3.73 is too high IMHO.
A couple questions though: Are you planning to do any towing? What percentage of off-road / highway and around town do...
I contacted my county emergency response team and volunteered my services. I didn't need the M35 for my own evacuation, it sat in my driveway and hasn't moved.
I haven't been called upon and I live at the NJ shore...2cents
Sorry to hear of the misfortune.
I had a multifuel that did the same thing. I couldn't believe it but sure enough it started and ran. If someone was shooting at me, I would darn sure drive it! :grd:
On the growing list:
CUCV rear bumpers
Front bumpers w/o brush guards
oil cooler lines
M35 bobber spring kit
M35 Dash parts
M35 Pintle hitch?
CUCV M1008/M1028 axles - PM if you want a set
CUCV dash parts
CUCV Core supports
CUCV Hoods
CUCV tires/wheels
M35 Cab w/doors - PM if you want me to...
If someone is interested, I have an M35 multifuel parts engine and air shift with rear facing PTO. I will bring either of those if there is interest. PM for details.
Thanks,
-HW
Yep, we brought those two in. Definitely not something I would put back on the road. Rear axles in both were stripped of gears and carrier and bearing caps missing (ie: rear axles are scrap). Motors stripped, interior trashed etc.
In hindsight, I would have bid less.

We are looking forward to the show! The plan to bring list should be pretty long but will contain plenty of CUCV parts. Everything we have is HEAVY so I may owe Hawkman a few favors!
We should have a couple refurbished axles to display/sell:beer:
Also plenty of u-bolts, plates, axle parts, Heavy...
Ooh ooh, I know this one... It's been stated correctly already but CUCV era FF 14 bolts are 10.5 ring gear and the SF rears are 9.5.
Be careful of the carrier breaks. Since CUCVs were factory with 4.56 ratio, they got the 4.56 and up carriers. This can be an issue when you are buying...
M1008Driver,
Looks nice! We have several people that go with the SOLID covers because they are priced right. Some others to consider are Ballistic (as mentioned) and Ruffstuff Specialties.
I usually go with SOLID or Ruffstuff 3/8" covers. Both are a nice product.
