We had a blast last weekend trying this new-to-me trail that starts about mile 92 on the Old Glenn Hwy.
This was a combo of hills, heavy deep mud, rocks, and water crossing. Kind of had it all.
We made it through the heavy mud no problem. Really just rolled through it were others struggled...
My latest adventure into the Alaskan wilderness beat the crap out of the rockers.
I actually peeled back the reinforcement at the bottom of the B pillar to rocker on the passenger side - and dented the driver side badly.
I see Predator, Midwest Military Equip, and more offer guards.
These are...
It was a blast. I just didn’t think I’d have such a rough time on those hills. The Truxxus (interco super swampers) just wouldn’t bite. I could have aired down some more. That’s the one thing I didn’t try. That old Toyota ran circles around me with his 38” Mickey Thompson BAJA tires.
Last weekend we finally attempted one of the more difficult and dangerous trails in the area.
I ran down to 10 psi and brake modulated….but at one point traction became impossible.
So…what about the performance? I was ready to buy one of these kits but went for the aluminum doors first and I have issues with the exhaust pipe mod hanging under the frame. I go way off road in remote places and am not sure how that will work as I’ve bottomed mine out several times.
I...
yes. And manimals. The manimals are the worst. They are often armed and jacked up on drugs. I like the idea of hard sides for the animals or manimals but either way camping or overnighting around here can be dangerous. Winter camping is ideal to avoid both. But a camper with heat or tent...
Well…I found one 10 miles from my house. A 1993 M101 with the steel body. New tires and good shape. We made a deal but it is buried in snow. I have to put my pintle hitch back on to get it. The plan is to set the camper in it. Don’t know how it will tow or balance but it is a start. Got...
I am reviving an old thread. Now that I’m in Alaska the value of a camper in my truck went way up. But I don’t want to spend big bucks on something I’ll drag against tree limbs and beat up. I found a cheap slide in old truck camper and may have it here soon. Will be a while till it is...
That is awesome. Mine will get loose over a few hours on the trail even with it direct bolted. I keep a multi tool 10mm and can take out the slack or loosen to open the hood. If you scroll through some of my recent trail videos you will see at least the left cable bouncing bad towards the...
Yes. We use a GMRS radio. I carry two with me in case mine goes out or someone needs one.
You can hear it in the background under the music in a few clips in this video.
