Thinking of building the M936 spades

$300 is a good price. I just did the math from my location to hattisburg and it would cost me $285 round trip in just fuel and 18 hrs counting fuel stops/food. I too thought bout building a set, but the ball for the tck socket could be more difficult than the spade and tube/leg itself.

    Mix and match tires

Yes, they bolt up. I got 7 lmtv wheels with the goodyear shoes. I rmvd the ctis valves, then realized the valve stems would not work for me. I ended breaking down my combat rims to havest the valve stems from them. That leaves me with several 14R 20s dismounted and wheels as spares if i choose...

Easiest way to access underdash air lines in a M931A2?

i had a very similar issue, but evidently not to the extent of yours. the wiper motor air hose had a cut in it where it slid onto the stem for the supply air. i too had a heck of a time getting enough room but managed to get my hands in there. my leak was enough i could hear it with the truck...

Did you lift your bed when you added 16.00's?

That is good to know. Doesnt look like a lot of room and my 936 looks like even less room.

Did you lift your bed when you added 16.00's?

After reading this yesterday, i was crutching in to the house and looked at my wrecker. There doesnt seem to be a lot of room on the rear axle to bed for 16s. I had 14s on it previously and both rear tires had some chunks taken out and a radial gash in the treads. I now understand what could...

    M925A2

Do you have an A1 or A2 series? A2 correct? You should have the 8.3, unless someone changed it out for something else. You’ll want to download the technical manual as mullaney mentioned and start going through them.

    M925A2

Better start soaking the exhaust mnt studs/bolts now. There is some stuff out there called knocker loose that is suppose really good. But since pb blaster is more readily available, get that stuff to soaking, esp during operation/running the eng

    Opening the hood

Im 5’10” 230 and i put my beer gut against the bumper and pull downward on the handles. Seems to work with ease for me. is there a lube point on the hinges? I cant remember.

    Opening the hood

Iv seen big trucks with hydraulic assist actuators/struts, like those on suv/car hatch backs. Might look into something like that.

    5" exhaust stack

That is good to know about sound and heat abatement. Anyone here in this thread know the headache required to rmv, assemble and reinstall a 939A2 cab? Id like to fix up my spare cab, get it ready for instal and the rmv the cab from my operational tck and install it.

    Tow Bar: Storage Location Question

Thought you were down south, around the san antone area. Its rare im in the dfw area, but if i do get up there and havent come across one closer to hm or enroute to or in the houston area, ill give you a shout. Iv stopped maintaining an aircraft in denton, so my trips in the dfw area are usually...
